That seems a much more accurate description of WoW. FFXIV meanwhile is either still on the rise or currently at its apex, certainly not well into its fall...
I mean I played the entire expansion and I felt rewarded for my time and money, which is the main point, and while EW was fun when I was doing savage and Ults, can't say much for the rest of the expansion. Your take of it being in it's fall is a personal one, I'm going off of what I've seen people saying about EW as well as my experience and how many people I've seen clearing, raiding, and flourishing in Dragonflight. And while theres detractors in WoW, there I can see if it's because the games bad or if they're bad with no repercussions.

It's all personal opinion and subjective.

I know people who hit their limit with Blizzard crap in Shadowlands and quit. They gave FFXIV a try and have been happy. Dragonflight came out, had some positive comments so they went back to WoW. Played 2 months, went "meh" and came back to FFXIV.

While they're both MMORPGs, each has its own appeal. It's up to players to decide which, or both or neither, appeal to them.

Play what makes you happy, not what makes you miserable. I was fairly miserable when I stopped playing WoW because of all the changes they had made. I haven't regretted leaving.

If FFXIV is making anyone feel the way I was feeling when I quit WoW, then my advice is to walk away with no regrets. Your current happiness is what matters.
