XIV remains at the extreme opposite of that spectrum: novel systems/structures are very rare to come by and when they do, they are cemented - the recurring design overall (job design specially) gives a feel of stasis, compared to the chaos that WoW (used to? idk nowadays) brought. My question is how long this 'rest on safe formula' can last until it sours really badly. I really didn't want to see XIV get to the bottom of the barrel to some damage control movement restore it.

Now, that's my western point of view. I'm very aware that the JP playerbase have different ideas, and Idk if I'm alienated to that or not, but from the scarce bits I see around, it gives the impression that they are content with the structure of the game right now.
The JP and CN playerbases want change as well and are very tired of the lack of developer interaction with the game. The CN Director thinks how Yoshida handles the game isn;t great ironically. They just do it on their social media platforms.
