Yeah I wish people ran those raids more. I know SE adjusted it so people couldn't get into lower level alliance raids based on item level but it doesn't seem to work as intended. I could be wrong but whenever I do it I seem to get either ARR or Endwalker.

It's working exactly as intended. People scapegoated ilevel cheese but that wasn't the reason those raids were popping up so much.

Maybe if the game actually encouraged anything besides CT we might not have this problem

I’ve queued for all three nier raids together for over an hour in peak time on a healer on aether and never got them to pop

Even the newest mogtome event encourages people to run CT even more because OF COURSE it does. Outside of glam farming or sheer enjoyment, there's no real reason for loads of people to queue the later alliance raids so they take ages to pop. The mogtome event could have corrected this, but nope nope nope gotta have it be limited to CT so the new people can participate. God forbid we just had multiple alliance raid tiers available from the same event at once or something.
And for people talking about aether memes, lmao, the last time I let someone drag me to aether for an alliance raid queue we sat there for 40 minutes before giving up and queuing it on crystal instead. It was dun scaith, and requeuing it on crystal got us inside in 16 minutes. There's no denying that Aether's PF scene is just plain superior but for DF queues the speed is just a toss-up bro.

In any case I love queuing weird alliance raids outright and dragging people in through the roulettes. Sometimes I'll queue ridorana, orbonne, copied tower, puppets bunker, and dun scaith and then just alt tab for 30 minutes until one of them pops. Once we spawn in, there's always one (or more) people who leave immediately followed by several people sounding happy af that they got something fun in their roulettes, or saying stuff like "finally this popped" because they'd been queuing it for hours. Hours.

SE needs to stop pumping up CT, jesus christ.

The only rationale I can think of for including Crystal Tower raids in the Moogle event is to help the influx of Xbox sprouts on Materia and Dynamis progress the MSQ since they won't know how to DC travel, Materia can't DC travel, and free trial players can't form PF groups.
I doubt it's helping on Dynamis since most people there are probably traveling away to grind tomestones but maybe it's working out for Materia?

Y'know , even though they're alliance raids I can get behind that idea since they're mandatory for MSQ now

Main issue with moving them to MSQ roulette is that they'd almost never pop there since there are already 3 4-person duties in the pool that would pop before MSQ can. I think the only roulette that has duties with different participant counts is guildhests and that's why the very final one is so damn rate to pop.

Was taking an alt through the Ivalice series the other day to unlock the hairstyle and first raid took about an hour to pop, second 95 minutes, and third took almost 110 minutes to pop if I recall correctly.

It's a shame it's not part of the mogtomes event, hopefully its at least in the second part.

Honestly, what was the actual issue of not including CT as one of the mandatory unlockables anyway? If I remember correctly, what it does to people playing in ShB was they didn’t get to pick two specific dialogue choices that implies our WoL recognize G’raha…

If so… why is that even a problem…? Is this also the same reason they use to cut corner like not giving us trials series in EW & just sell them as MSQ-content? Lol

I think it’s elpis that is the problem


You absolutely need a valid connection to the crystal tower established with graha in the raid questline to make elpis work

I guess they could have rewritten the lead up to elpis for people who met graha as the exarch rather than during crystal tower but I’m assuming they found it easier to just force you to do CT so they didn’t have two different story lines
