Black list total rework

The Blacklist system need a total rework its totally useless as it is it only block the chat and it should be a lot more then that.

Sadly when you put a lot of ppl at the same place the IQ and respect drop bellow 0 and its worst on the internet when ppl see each other as the faceless of the net and wont care a second about you and what you want and think its proved facts.

You always will have ppl having fun trolling and harass others in all kind of manner and they are verry creative at it.

The current blacklist is way off of what it should be, the list cap is WAY too low i could fill it in a couple of hours... gold spammer, babyshark player, venue spammer and the plain troller and harasser the world is filled with them so we need ways to handle our self and not just wait hoping a GM will do something about it bc most of the time it don’t happen.

Blocking only the chat is way too little, the blacklister and the blacklisted should not be able to see or ear each other at all, if i take the time to put some one in there i don’t want to see or ear anything it dos. there is already a system that prevent loading of ppl that are too far when in a crowded place well use the same system but instead of using range and qty use character name so our client don’t waste resource loading ppl that are blacklisted.

that way when some one feel funny and play babyshark for hours in loop every day right in middle of the crowd they will get blacklisted by a lot of ppl and since ppl rarely cleanup their blacklist thus harasser would end up alone eventually, then they might think about it before doing so. if GM don’t want to ban for this we could at less chose not to endure them at the verry less. turning perform sound off is not a option since they play on top of others we CANT turn off a specific char so don’t give me that turn it off crap i should not have to do this for any one that play this game only to piss off ppl the blacklist should take care of it that’s what it is for… to get rid of nuisance that pollute our game play.

When these ppl end up alone, they might actually learn some thing eventually instead of almost encouraging them to keep going since nothing happen to them. With the right tools the use of GMs should be for technical issue only.

a functional blacklist is a most in a MMO, its hardly forgivable to have such a bad one after all those years especially with all the tech available now a day I can’t believe the engine is so outdated that it cant handle a descent blacklist system.

It should change. People can still harass you without even talking to you. For exemple, If you blacklist someone after an argument, they can call all their friends and just stay at your own house at all time just to make you feel bad and keep harassing you with just their presence. They can also spam emote on you with the chat log on and you can't do anything about it. Also, you can encounter them inside duty roulette and inside PF if you aren't the PF leader even if you blacklisted them. The suggestion of not seeing someone is actually a good suggestion. One thing that we do need is the ability to put "note" on the Blacklisted people so we can remember why they are blacklisted.

I agree on this one, I've disabled it a long time ago because people only play using bots to do it for themselves instead of playing with their own fingers. But that's an other debate.

im not sure who babyshark is but the weebo police person is who parks a multitude of like named alts around the main square in Limsa definately comes to mind for me, this particular player is very disruptive to everyone. I see a new alt added to the crowd every few days, and now this player is also throwing bards into the mix.

I read/saw somewhere that the /blacklist feature is getting at least a couple upgrades in Dawntrail. No.1 makes blacklisting a player an account wide blacklist, meaning it automatically blocks a players entire account when you blacklist them, and No.2 it makes the blacklisted player invisible to you, meaning it prevents their character avatar from being displayed on the screen. I am not sure if they have also addressed the bard/musical performance issue as that particular point was not mentioned.
