Yes. The main reason I wanted to bring this back up again is because I was looking at questions answered by Devs...and noticed something mentioned about an important NPC that's left handed. That's what reminded me of all this. If there's lefty NPCs! I want a lefty!
i'm left handed if they can do this then hell ya![]()

Lefties are evil. I vote no.
I play two handed sports left handed and one handed sports right handed.
I never would think about asking SE to implement this. Any effort to implement left handed animations by SE is really wasted. Resources can be spent doing better things, so I say no.
lol resources they have everyone on SE "about 900-1k people" working on FFXIV so i don't think it a waste to give people what they want.

Having a little experience in the field of modeling, and using code to render that model to the screen. I see that those that are complaining about having to remake all the skins. This is simply not true if you mirror a model correctly. Hell you don't even need new assets, you can use code to flip the model into the mirrored world. A model is simply a bunch of points in 3D space with a texture map attached. To mirror the model across the horizontal plan you simple multiply by -1 therefore flipping it, as well as any textures placed on the model. the same applies to the animations. And for those skeptical about this, a model is always "placed" into existence moved to the point needed to be in, then rotated to face the desired Direction. This left handed argument about modeling issues seem mute to me.
For the argument of interactions between NPC, well, in 1.x I rarely even saw direct contact so the animations would matter too much.
I support this idea not only for the information I just gave, but also that I AM LEFTY! ~~sorry for the silly meme~~
Power to the lefties! I really hope Se can implement this without too much trouble.

Troll all you like but mirroring using the method I provided could be done on a calculator. Because a mirrored model is equivalent in every way to a basic model except x coordinates are flipped, therefore making storage of the model into memory the same regardless. Get educated before you troll. Thank you.
Does not matter if there is a ps3 limitation SE said that wont mess up what they can release for the PC version. They learn from FFXI they wont be limit the PC version thanks to how bad PS3 is for the xiv so pc can get dx11 and more stuff and ps3 players just have to deal with it or get it for pc.;Troll all you like but mirroring using the method I provided could be done on a calculator.
