Eh I’m not going to argue about it (sorry bole)

I shouldn’t have used “regen” specifically for kardia (even if it functionally a regen) otherwise I stick by my point, SGE is functionally a regen healer since the overwhelming amount of its net healing comes physis and kerechole, two true regens

I mean, if you’re playing with paper tanks for reasons like them being undergeared or just generally bad at gaming, it doesn’t matter which healer you’re playing. All 4 gonna have quite a time to keep them alive & I don’t think it’s inherently fair to single out SGE for that reason alone.

You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."

Technically speaking, Kardia is direct healing because it requires an action for it to trigger. Regen in just about every iteration of Final Fantasy I have ever played both single player and MMO applies a HoT (heal over time) on a target that requires no action beyond the initial application. It is very distinct from other healing abilities.

The semantics are meaningless in the sense that however healing comes, all that matters is that player HP doesn't fall to zero. But if discussing the type of healing a healer focuses on, then yeah, it kind of matters. As I said earlier in this thread, all the healers have a pretty balanced set of direct heals, shields, and HoTs tied to their oGCD abilities. The only thing that truly separates them are niche abilities/spells and their job gauges. These are few and far between though.
