    O_O; I see...

    The input is certainly appreciated. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels like this.

    At the same time, it's a little disheartening. lol I tried going to the camps around Camp Broken Water. I got 2/3 nodes, but when I tried to make it to Zna'rk(or some such?) I got horribly owned. Still, I'll try and see if I can get a friend or two to come with me next time but I don't know how much good it will do if they get one shotted D=!!

    However, I can see where you're coming from about the aggro types. Although, I'm having trouble differentiating between mobs that do sight or sound aggro. For some, I know which is which but for others- not so much.
    Sadly, a most of the information about this game is very dated. D=!

    I wish we at least had sneak and invis for this purpose >_<!
    Or that Stealth didn't fail so much. v-v;
    It should just Stealth you period and throw out the level requirement and slow movement speed. As a gatherer you can't do anything but gather anyway. You can't really gather high level gathering points since you will most likely fail and you can only use them once. D=

    I'll second the request for sneak/invis item or spell... there's a lot of world I'd like to explore. I like running around unexplored areas.

    Stealth would be a way to do it. Just dropping the level requirement would give it a lot more functionality. You really can't go mine/harvest/fish nodes high above your level anyway.

    It should be noted though, that once you get all of the nodes, you really know your stuff. Not to mention it's a serious feeling of accomplishment. Getting The Wanderer's Shadow is still one of the happiest moments in the game for me. The best advice I can give is, don't keep bashing your head into a wall. If something doesn't work, try something new. I know when I was trying to get South Bloodshore, it took me almost an hour to realize that I could just walk past the crabs. I was getting so frustrated I just kept running in headlong and didn't think to try walking (it was one of my first nodes, so I hadn't really gotten a feel for the aggro mechanics).

    I would recommend to anyone trying to get "The Wanderer's Shadow" this guide:

    http://xivpads.com/?-Guides&Wanderer...etherial_Gates

    Some of the info might be outdated these days but from my experience it's still mostly accurate.

    Ohh! Thank you! I'll be sure to look at that! ^_^!!

    Information about this game is usually very dated and recent info is hard to come by, since people aren't updating. ;_____;

    My guess is that the updates shall happen after 2.0.

    But yes, thanks for sharing!

    Be sure to comment on there if anything is outdated so I can update it, I still read the comments every now and then.

    Yeah that's the problem, even if you got molested by high level enemies in XI they didn't oneshot you at level cap so you had a chance of getting away even in narrow spots. Realistically instead of just removing em, they could just re-examine the calculations of it since that's the main reason high level enemis are more of a problem than they should be.

    The achivements though you should know they made em for the long term of the game, so in 2.0 everything could be quite different as we know the maps will be, so they probably don't even expect many to try for em now lol. So really probably best to wait to see how 2.0 plays out since come 1.23 in a few weeks..they're pretty much done with 1.x lol. I can understand the frustration but it's more of a foundation problem rather than placement, since unlike XI you have native HP/MP regen that doesn't require traits even while on a mob hatelist in passive mode (just slows down), so you can recover some hp while trying to run away but the fact the Annole hits you for 7820 damage..yeah.

    This is also true.

    I figured that the achievements were here to stay, but then again- I really wasn't certain just what was staying and what was leaving come 2.0. XD

    I actually enjoy the high level creatures out in the world. It provides a sense of danger and excitement to an otherwise incredibly boring aspect of the game -- I also like the idea of humbling the player by having creatures so strong that no one person could ever hope to kill them.

    That said, I do agree that most of them should be toned down enough that a group of players could kill them and I like the idea of sneak+inv pots to the game.

    Dread Spike, Hollowed Ground, Decoy, and Feather Foot. These are your friend when exploring.

    I like the high level mobs cause its fun to try and get past em to see a area you've never seen before.
