As long as I can deny challenge, SE can do whatever.
Don't feel lie getting murdered by someone just because they were bored.

You must be joking'You know nothing John Snow'
It is much more difficult in the open world, in matches there is pre-set rules.. move i tem from B to A or C....
With linkshells and more to it it would be players in the open world calling in for aid as they are getting beaten from people and just add to the minor wars, though I wonder if the server spaghetti code can handle, it takes much more organisation other than saying to follow square or triangle or whatever and as for the open world you can take advantage of the locations you are at and people just want to fly in have ranged brds and the likes taking them down.
Are you assuming people never done any world PvP in MMORPG?
There is no faction in this game and players can communicate each other freely.
There will be no World PvP at group scale, it will only have gankers.
I dont call ganking Player vs Player, it is merely player-killing
With the resistance to it, yes I most definetely do say so, and further more not engaged in any of it either in proper means other than expecting it everything being about rewards handed to the left and right and where the sun does not shine, so yes.You must be joking

In SWG, it was Rebels vs Imperials, it worked well and organized as well.
In EvE Online, you even lose your assets, if you lose a starship of any type, and can be attacked anywhere anytime any zone, and the biggest ever PvP battles ever recorded in any MMORPG ever as well, when you get into the big battles that is.
It has been kind of flat in most other MMOs but an option, I would say that Elderscrolls Online did have an interesting approach to it, though may have suffered too much with too much choice in classes and setups though.
The option for a second game in the game, could be an interesting affair overall, as it is, but as for a player, you need to want to do PvP, and not just be whipped to it because of some cool mount or whatever is in sight for doing enough let us say Frontlines or Rival Wings etc.
