    Shadowbringers/Endwalker Frontline Idea

    I suggest that there be a frontlines map on the first. We need the first to get PVP representation. Shadowbringers was amazing.

    My idea is that there would be three teams you would randomly be put on.

    Team one would be the Warriors of Light. Team two would be the Warriors of Darkness, and Team three would be the Warriors of Dawn (yes, dawn is a thing).

    Each corner of the map would be themed after a different location on the first. Light would be the Crystarium, and would have a lakeland theme. Darkness would be Eulmore, and would have a Kholusia theme. Dawn would have an Il Mheg theme with its Voebertian castle in the background.

    In each corner the players would be summoned like the heroes were for the last dungeon in Shadowbringers, so the goal would be to overwhelm the opponents via summoning from other shards. It would play into this by having mechanics that involve summoning divine powers, and other Ascian related shenanigans. Would be a good way to memorialize these things, but make a fresh Frontlines mode that feels out of this world.

    As much as I adored the addition of Onsal Hakair back then, I think we are getting quite overwhelmed with large-scale PvP maps and their associated achievements.

    The first map is in rework mode, the second one is tolerable, the third one keeps getting tinkered with, Onsal is fairly ok if a bit open for my taste, Astagalos has been in works since Hidden Gorge is out. And Hidden Gorge outside of mogtomes has a queue problem they refuse to acknowledge because we are incentive driven westerners and want a Daily Challenge like Frontlines.

    I can see the aesthetically pleasing factors here, but I cannot support them creating a new one when the old systems need to get looked at.

    And then there is also fixes they should do regarding small scale PvP, Casual and Ranked alike... like giving us back 2man pairing in Casual like we had it before 6.1 in Feast.

    Or, without going balls deep into the details, adressing the lack of desire to play ranked in the west due to the appalling lack of rewards from Bronze to Platinum and the lackluster ones at Diamond+ and Top 100.

    Who knows how their work structure looks like or if PvP even has a designated group and if feedback from us ever reaches them.

    I like this idea, partly because one of my objections to Shatter is playing in a damn blizzard. However, I'd suggest Il Mheg would make a pretty lousy backdrop simply because it's so bright and multicolored. Even with battle FX turned down, all the flashes and explosions on a borderline-solarized environment would be a mess IMO.

    I don't want to see an ounce of effort go into a new Frontline map until they:

    1) restore Borderland Ruins
    2) restore Astragalos
    3) pull us out of the absolute worst iteration of Frontline we've ever seen

    A new map in this state is just sort of pointless.

    As much as I want new maps, I have Z E R O faith in the dev teams ability to implement them. They need to fire whoever was in charge of making decisions to frontlines this expansion. Because if they did more I'd expect;

    A: Maps where the outcome of the match is decided by how much damage was done to a PvE target.
    B: Maps with flawed RNG node spawns.
    C: Maps where one team (or more) is given a massive terrain disadvantage.
    D: Maps that are overly complicated and PvE rouletters have no idea what they're doing with a quick glance.

    They've shown very little intelligent creativity with PvP this year. Purging Borderland ruins, and then ruining shatter was completely, and utterly unacceptable, and quite possibly the most baffling decision they've made in regards to Frontlines PvP of all time. I'd love a battle on the first, though I'm not sure how well the team names would go. Perhaps just flagging with Crystarium, Eulmore, and maybe Rak'Tika would be simpler. I don't think Dohn Mehg should be in PvP as the Fae have outright said that they're neutral if I recall, and it doesn't make any sense that they'd be involving themselves in PvP if that were the case.

    Really we'd just have to hope they accidentally made the map enjoyable, and they keep their grubby hands off Onsal and Seal Rock.
