Dawntrail release date

I know what they said about themselves not being sure if they can keep an announced date or not, so they rather not giving us a date at all.

Did they say anything about a date/time frame when we can expect a release date? at least a vague frame would have been nice.

Most likely June or July. They love June for release dates. Here's some history.

• 23 June 2015 (Heavensward)
• 20 June 2017 (Stormblood)
• 2 July 2019 (Shadowbringers) (early access was 28 June)
• 7 December 2021 (Endwalker)

All but 2 of those are effectively June. We got access to all of these expansions a week before these dates due to early access. Endwalker would have probably been in summer as well but it suffered from the Covid-19 delays.

So it is very likely they are aiming for the favorite month of June and it would all line up to be then as well.

After 4.55, we got Shadowbringers 4 months later. If we applied that to now, it would release in May. But they have longer breaks and holidays and patch gaps now, so if we allow for an extra month it reaches their favorite month.

Complete shot-in-the-dark guess? Some time late April/early May. I mean, we're getting the FFXIV - FFXVI collaboration event at some point in April and it may be fair to assume they'll announce something after that has released.

I'd GUESS, if they stick to a June/July release schedule (as @Jeeqbit stated) we'd hear something about Dawntrial's release late April/early May. But that's nothing but a wild guess.

The thing about some of these June/July releases, is the wording they used for the Stormblood & Shadowbringers expansions. In both cases, they used "early Summer" to describe the release window.
Meanwhile, Dawntrail has gotten the wording "Summer", with Yoshi-P talking about how he wants to release it as early in Summer as possible, but for players to keep the "Summer" wording in mind. He also stated that "it won't be October, it'll be Summer".

The combination of the above makes me think a late July/early August release is more likely.

It came across like they would tell us a week or two later on the lodestone, but they haven't. They will make noise about it on the lodestone most likely, because they want to enable pre-orders and sell merch.

They also need at least a month for the media tour, because there is typically a month between the media tour and the release.

I have a feeling we will not know until sometime in May, that is when they will most likely be doing the Media Tour. 60 days is the amount of time they probably want for QA / bug fixes after they finalize things.
