    "Best" Solo class?

    Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few favorite classes for soloing (Tank? DD? ...Healer?!).

Mainly because I like to level every class and would like to get some equipment with my stronger class, thus I'd like to level a strong solo class first.
Especially since I saw there are a few dungeon-"soulbound" equipment parts

At the moment I'm bringing my Pug to 30 for the mount

    So... any suggestions ?

    EDIT:
Thank you for all your input, I guess I'll go with Con/Whm
Being a healer is also nice for partying easily.

Lnc/Drg is a very good solo class granted yo dont pull more than 3 high lvl mobs.

they're all good solo classes, but if you're doing leve, then BLM is awesome.

My opinion would be THM, a vast array of offensive and defensive abilities. Again, this is strictly my opinion.

1 on 1 I like drg, but if you are facing a hoard I think war is the best although don't have it levelled myself

WHM/CNJ has the best combination of offense and defense.

Pugilist gets my vote if you get things like Bloodbath from other classes. Second wind is one of the most useful abilities in the game for its free heal and Pugilist's gets boosted as you level up. You get the best single-target DD (which is what you'll be doing solo) along with good evasion too.

Best Solo Class would have to be either Puglist or Lancer. They both have sufficient defense and offense. Lots of TP, Lots of Damage Output, Pleanty of MP and Strong self healing skills. Creates a nice balance.

GLA is the best if you need to Solo your way into a place like Beastman Strongholds

Con is actually very good for Farming because you can do crazy AOEs it will almost never run out of MP so long as you use your skills.

Arc is by far the worst because it has to run and shoot which extends the duration of Battle unnecessarily.

THM kills really fast, but there is way to much downtime. You run out of MP to fast and do not have sufficient skills to keep it up.

MRD just doesn't seem good enough at healing itself. Even with every cross class healing skill in the game. I think it's Mag Stats are just naturally too low.

If you are soloing mobs below your level a melee is good.
If you are soloing mobs over your level whm/con will do better.
If you are soloing multiple mobs go with whm/con or war/mrd.

if the target is weak to earth or wind elements, i have no doubt that WHM is tops, if it's not, then there are better options by far. I don't have a 50 PLD, but from what I've seen, I think that would be my choice. I have to admit tho, my experience so far with solo WHM blows away my expectations, it's so balanced in most situations, that with a little focus on MP management, there's very few things you can't handle gracefully on your own. I use a very heavy HP + Vit setup double meld parts + GC parts and AF boots for solo, with focus on Earth element. I love it.
