Can we get a Dramatic Opening Cinematic?

Before we found out about how jobs were being implemented, I used to fantasize that the opening cinematic would show the massive armies of the beastment, garleans and the grand companies fighting each other, then as meteor/Dalamud closes in, on the opposite horizon you'd see a giant crystal shooting lots of little lights in all directions. As the camera focuses on some random combatants, the lights transform them into the various jobs. You'd see a familiar-looking elezen in a plain tabard turning into this, a Miqo'te MRD being hit by one and turning into a WAR, a highlander PGL being hit by one and turning into a MNK handing out asskickings like they were candy, a male midlander Lancer turning into a DRG and skewering stuff, and a lalafell that suspiciously looks like my avatar trying to run from a light, getting hit by it and emerge in a familiar red outfit with matching pimp hat, firelit rapier in hand. :O

Couldn't think of a better way to present the jobs than in a real hour of need.

Some valid points in OP but I think the open cinematic for ffxiv set the stage for The Echo, guildleves, primals, the garlean empire, and the dragon horde etc., all at the same time. And so in that respect it did well in establishing a premise for the gameworld. It didn't really have a lot of dramatic tension, but it wasnt a total failure or anything. Actually, I think it was quite good, and some people probably remember it much more vividly than the FFXI one.

Besides, it's way too late to make some request like this as though something we say now could change the course of their CGI development plans.

There was also nothing really wrong with the original anyway. It seems like a waste of their time to even remake one, if you ask me.

I realise that, but saying "make it more dramatic" now - at this juncture in time - is futile unless they were already considering that beforehand. And I maintain that they shouldnt have bothered making this new intro movie in the first place (which is again a futile thing to say because it's too late now, but hey, if they want to waste their money making a new intro movie which people will spend 0.000001% of their gameplay watching, then so be it). Still seems like a waste when they already have a movie to begin with. Why make two?
