I mean really, it's long overdue... I'm absolutely tired of it. I shouldn't have to cut off all communication with /busy to do so.

What i do personally for those of my alts not in a FC i create a FC request with FC name and tag but don't invite people to it. They will think you're in one and not invite you.
I just made one. Me and my wife are the only members. That stopped it for us. But I agree there should be something to block them.

I had done this with family and close irl friends. My partner made it after they joined ffxiv in secret. They leveled the FC all the way so we would get the buffs than surprised everyone with it one morning. I left the FC I joined because of feeling bad for saying no (aye this is indeed a me problem there >.<). After months of uwu cat girl speak and strange pet names, no offense to them they were friendly enough, but I just couldn't really relate to any of them.
For the OP if it is not too much trouble and you can find signatures just make one for yourself. I know people shouldn't have to do this, other mmos I have played do have an option in their equivalent to chat settings or character setting where you can auto decline invites like this. I do not see why square would not be able to do this on a technical level. It would just be time consuming and most likely on a to do list of quality of life changes.
I would also like this as an option.
There is a way to do this already, but it is against the TOS and a person I know uses it to get the options square has not put into the game yet. It kind of stinks mods will not be allowed ever their is a fat cat fairy reskin I would hate to have on scholar when wishing for a change of visuals. It looks sooooo cute!

Report the person for harrashment, because ninja recruiting is not prohibited activity.... if everyone does that... then sooner or later you will see threads on these boards about FC leaders who has been put to jail and suspended for a few days for ninja-recruiting.
Reported one that did it to me 5x straight before I joined my friend. I try to live and let live unless they are spammy and annoying.
Wise men speak because the have something to say, fools because they have to say something. - Plato - He saw the ff forums apparently.
The easiest way to avoid FC invites is to just join an FC; You get free buffs and people to chat with.
You don't even have to be social if you join an FC. You can literally never interact with anyone and benefit freely from permanent XP buffs among other things. The worst you may run into is having to say hi back when they say hi to you when you log in.
Some people are so weird and self-defeatist sometimes smh.
People are the way they are. Most MMO's have options for this kind of stuff anyway and should be there by default. You don't even have to be social if you join an FC.
