(suggestion) Combat food buffs should not fall off mid combat

Hello! As the title says, I believe that combat food buffs should not fall off when in combat with something. It should work like how crafting food does where it stays on until the end of the craft before falling off. For example, lets say you are doing an ultimate like Ultima Weapon's Refrain and mid pull during the Ultima raid wide after suppression, your mages food runs out and they lose the vitality needed to survive the hit. Instead of it falling off as soon as the timer is up, it should fall off as soon as a break in the combat happens like a long transition period between phases or mechanics or right after a wipe.

Doing this change would be nothing more than a QoL change as it wont really add that much more time to the foods effective use, but instead remove some annoyance when you or others die too a hit all because of your 30/40minute buff ran out.

You can use food mid combat. You can't use food mid crafting. That's why crafting food buffs don't fall off.

Yes the change fundamentally is negligible, but it is and should be common practice to remind players to refresh food in advance when aiming to kill in the encounter duration (case of Ultima around 16min).

Spefically in your case, they had a ton of moments to pop food without damage loss, in the middle of the pull.

• [if damage is low enough] Ifrit dashes
• Titan phase transition
• Geo Crush #1 + #2
• Limit Break Phase except during Caster LB window
• Ultimate Predation
• Ultimate Suppression

I think that's just more of the person's fault for not taking the food timer and the fight encounter into consideration. Also there's plenty of down time just before the final phase starts to re apply food. If someone dies just because their food falls off then it's that person's mistake.
