Revert the /me emote in cutscenes!

Once upon a time, your WoL would do their race- and gender-specific "/me" emote in cutscenes. However, sometime recently, this was changed to a more generic "pat yourself while standing perfectly still" emote instead (as in this year's Valentione event).

It's not as good! The current one is so stiff and stilted, compared to the charm and individualism of many races' emotes. Please change this back to the older emote!

I have to second this, and it does feel extremely overused as of late.

What's even more jarring to me is that, as a person with boobs playing a character with boobs, you just... don't pat yourself on the boob like that? Ever? It feels very unnatural.
All female models clearly have their hand placed on the upper part chest in the /me animation and, well, let's just say there's a good reason for that.

I've actually made a habit of mimicking the animation whenever it plays just because the gesture is so silly lol... so you could say I'm even more aware of how much the boob patting has increased recently

you know what i miss in msq... your character.. using their own voice that you picked for them. to make various sounds and expressions. this is an rpg and my character isnt me. no matter hm ppl try to act like they're thier character. theyre not (god i hope i got that grammar right lol)... the character has thier own thoughts feelings and processes for how they deal with everything put infront of them.. i HATE that at the very least, not only does he HARDLY speak.. but is he like.. mute? or something when he does. It's been a joke for me now for the last 3+ years that he's the Mute of light and everyone else is just lipreading him

When did this start happening? You're right, my character just did the most dumb /me emote I've ever seen in this game during the Valentione's event. Where's my old one with the upper chest pat and smirk of confidence?

I agree with OP in the strongest terms possible. While we're at it the more racial charm in glams, emotes and dialogue the better.

General, boring, vanilla everything is flavorless. I'm pretty sure everyone likes their food to have flavor, and variety.

@OP I honestly didn't notice a change, but I'm always down for toggles to have both options.

I agree very much with this. The cutscene after the final fight in EW release MSQ would have been a perfect use for something like that. Instead they just make no noise at all.

As far as I'm aware it's been around since 6.0 or 6.1, I actually took comparative screenshots when it played in a cutscene for the Make It Rain Campaign in 2022 (but it was there earlier than that, that event is just when I started really noticing how odd it was)



Very noticeable on Elezen because of how high the hand usually is on the /me emote lol

Most of the cutscenes are stiff and stilted, yeah.
Look at how happy the devs were in EW when they learned how to clench a fist. They reused that animation a dozen times. It became a meme.
I really think anyone who knew how to animate a cutscene simply quit cbu3.
