Error 2021 when attempting to data center travel

I frequently get error 2021 when attempting to DC travel, both after I actually successfully travel and when trying to return to my home world. The game now exiting to desktop after getting this error makes this extra frustrating. Was wondering if there was any specific fix to help, or is it just a result of my internet?

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If this is only affecting one character, then it may be something to do with your locally-saved settings. Go to 'My Documents' > 'My Games' > 'Final Fantasy XIV' and delete that folder. If there are any corrupted files that are associated only with that character, this will get rid of them.

If this does not solve the issue, try updating your graphics card drivers and doing a clean boot. To do a clean boot simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Please be sure to install the game to the C: drive as this works best with Final Fantasy XIV. Lastly, please be sure that no background processes are interfering with FFXIV (i.e. Anti-virus software, OneDrive, Discord etc.)

I don't do much data center travel but wanted to do it today and was also getting Error 2021. I have done everything suggested by Votraftur with no luck. It gets stuck at retrieving world data and then errors out.

I have however been getting this error message when it crashes to error 2021 and I relog back in.

I'm not sure what's going on, I have tested with multiple characters and get the same thing. The last time it worked for me was back during the cloud server testing, so I'm not sure if something from that messed with my account or what. I can log in and world travel no problem on the same data center and I can create a character on other data centers. I just can't data center travel.
