They needed someone that wouldn't require a needlessly convoluted excuse to be there. (Though I suspect a few scions reasons will probably border on that). Yugiri however would still be involved in Doma's restoration. It and Ala Mihgo might have been liberated, however that doesn't magically fix the nation overnight. That same reasoning would be why there should be no expectations for anyone in Ishgard or Garlemeld to appear in Dawntrail unless the story takes us back to those areas at some point.

Krile has been the same job since Heavensward (WHM) and she is a major character with fans, so it would make sense to give her Pictomancer. I have heard the argument that Alphi should of been it since he is canonically an "artsy type" who paints but he JUST got Sage, and Ystola fans are on a whole different level of nonsense trying to justify her being Picto. And yes, I know Estinien has been DRG since ARR, but he can't NOT be a Dragoon it is pretty much his main character trait.

I agree, Krile has always been more solemn and reserved in XIV. SCH would actually be a perfect fit for her as FFV Krile can talk and communicate with animals, so there would allusions to it with the fairies.

I've always wanted to see more Krile in MSQ, especially since Stormblood, but not when it demeans her character like this does.
