RP shout ads are obstructive to chat and gameplay

Ignoring whatever you guys are going on about.
The issue with potentially making a seperate tab for venues is that venues are community created content. If they make a tab specifically for them, they would need a hard definition of what it is and I highly doubt they would do that since it's not them who made it. Since the definition is essentially open to the community's interpretation as it is right now.
And that's not counting the follow up of other communities wanting their own tab if venues get one.
I approve of how it is right now. All community created content falls into other.

Also you say ads are being spammed. I think SE would need to come out and say what constitutes as spam. Multiple people advertising different venues is not spam imo. The same person putting up their ad over and over again yes.

Dunno if anyone else suggested this cuz I'm not reading all pages of this but, you can just put your shout chat on a seperate tab.
That way you can just tab over whenever you wanna see the shouts.

And when u put your shout tab on a sep tab (or put everything ELSE on a seperate tab)... you miss things that might ACTUALLY be important like helping other people actually do or find things. That part i underlined in your post is the entire problem. It's not "spam" cause (aside from one person i saw all year posting like 3 times in 5 minutes) it's only one person. But then you add on the 15 other people that shout THEIR ad at the same time.... There have been quite a few times i happen to be in town and (being on console with a controller this is even more annoying to do) I'm talking with my FC and I have to tab to the chat box then scroll up to see what the hell someone just said cause 2 or 3 other people just shouted a damn ad. I could make the chat log full screen but then i can't really do other things. I could go to my "chat only tab" that has shout off, but then i might miss something and i usually don't remember to do it every damn time either... lol ONE person shouted a club ad in kugane the other day and like 15 people responded with something akin to "shut the hell up". lol... The majority dont' want this crap in their log. Whether there's "18+ connotations" or not. I can only imagine what new players think of the game these days when they're stuck in town for awhile... But like i said before, Yoshi would actually have to lay down the "law" again and tell people to keep it (the ads) out of chat for it to stop.

Edit: and i just thought of something else... When i'm not actually playng i stay at my FC's house or mine most of the time. I don't even want to SEE these damn ads. Which means i miss out on newbies asking for help or wanting to join an FC (seen the latter and invited said people a few times, but i'm rarely in town now cause i just hate this crap).
