RP shout ads are obstructive to chat and gameplay

Im sorry that you've formed a negative opinion but that's no excuse for condescending comments or trolling. The intent behind this thread was stated clearly several times. To find a solution that makes everything better and easier for everyone, and by extension making more enjoyable for everyone. So senseless arguments like the ones deleted from this thread never have to happen again. I suppose now's a good time to tell you that my FC mansion is actually a venue and they don't rely on shout ads at all, as they see it as obnoxious to spam the chat like so many others do. They use discord and other places to advertise and they're constantly at max capacity when they're open.

Congratulations on your success in a video game, although now this is reading to me more like a superiority thing just because you claim you don't use shout ads lol. Really off-putting.
I also find it a bit confusing that you're getting mad about venue spam when you're running a venue yourself and apparently do all of your advertising over Discord. If it doesn't affect your ability to pull in customers, what does it matter? Just glance at it and move on lol.
Obviously the outright perverted ones are a problem, no one is denying that, but I don't get the logic of getting upset about general spam if it doesn't affect your business. You could easily just turn shout off in main cities temporarily while you're there since you don't appear to use it? (unless you do just sit in Limsa all day like others have claimed in which case...idk what to tell you as someone who actually moves through the open world rather than just idling in main cities).

I'd also think you'd want to help raise other venues up and work with others so that the community you're a part of can thrive even more, rather than tear them down in a public thread that anyone can read, but that's just me.

As far as not making useful contributions: I'm down for an RP tab so people can put their ads there, one that is separate from Other. Therefore, people who want to see it can just tab over and people who want to use Other for reasons other than advertising venues (crafting/gathering jobs, art commissions, whatever other fluff things that don't constitute as venue ads) can still use it for that.

As far as the spam goes, I don't have one for that because it doesn't really bother me to the extent it does others but I also don't think Square necessarily cares either. You can report people all you like and they'll still be there the next day or the venues will just hire new shout-runners and it continues. The way I see it, they'd have to start babysitting every venue and monitor their communications to see any kind of change and they absolutely don't have the staff for that lol (especially since new venues sprout up every day).

At some point, you have to kind of make choices for yourself (turning off shout, not going into main cities unless you're buying something, etc.) if it really affects your experience to the point of getting actually mad about it and you don't want to just outright quit the game.

No one has Square on speed-dial to get things changed and even if someone passes this suggestion to them, they might not even implement it until the next expansion after Dawntrail (if they already have their "cup" full of content/changes approved and in the works for DT). So, do you really want to spend the next 6m+ angry in the forums about shout ads or do you want to find a compromise that makes your experience better on your own in the meantime?
