The problem I have with discussing laws and whatnot in this thread is that they have absolutely no bearing on in-game marriages. A marriage in FFXIV I'd both virtual and not a legal marriage in any sense. It's not legally valid in any state or country. It is a virtual ceremony that pertains only to the game world and has no official bearing in the real world.Problem with this is, they also have to make changes based on their country.
SE had to end the Mog Bonanza due to European and/Canadian gambling laws. While gambling in Japan isn't THAT taboo (Pachinko for example) going international, they just can't do it. So while they need to "cater to everyone they support" their dev team and primary holders are in Japan, they're based in Japan and have to abide by Japanese rules, much like Blizzard has to abide by American laws even if they have support in other countries.
This. I find it hard to take the discussion of society and politics seriously in this context. The problem I have with discussing laws and whatnot in this thread is that they have absolutely no bearing on in-game marriages. Plus, is just plain off-topic and could get the thread locked.

Blizzard also has to edit their games in china in order to respect their culture (The undead is taboo in China) and thus BLIZZARD had to edit the undead models that resemble skeletons to appeal to the Chinese audience because of different cultures.Problem with this is, they also have to make changes based on their country.

I've been thinking about this for a while... actually SE didn't end Mog bonanzaProblem with this is, they also have to make changes based on their country.

As a matter of fact they had one just this year...
ahhh never mind just got more information this year was the last one they are holding due to the laws I correct myself on it.
however, though if I may point out one tiny little thing. that didn't stop SE from putting in Serendipity into FFXIII-2 Which has gambling in it.

I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!

Like many people have said on this topic, I really hope that this feature doesn't only allows for heterosexual marriage. everyone should be allowed to get married. my significant other shouldn't have to make a female character just so we can get married in game like everyone else can. yoshi I do hope you are listening.

He does listen. As a matter of fact I know and can prove he does. Remember when we were talking about how chocobos were going and we started the whole my little pony gag along with it. he posted in a letter "My little chocobo" and there is an achievement called that. Also the detective from the Inns. I know that started out on here with someone posting a picture of a highlander dressed liked that with the pose.Like many people have said on this topic, I really hope that this feature doesn't only allows for heterosexual marriage. everyone should be allowed to get married. my significant other shouldn't have to make a female character just so we can get married in game like everyone else can. yoshi I do hope you are listening.

True, true. I know a couple of gay guys and they act just as "straight" would in everyday life. Hildibrand definitely is on the undetermined side, though. No thanks. lets not carry on the gay stereotype. People like hildebrand are their own category of different, and it's not related to their orientation. <_<
I can say with 100% confidence that gay individuals are the same as straight individuals, other than the gender they are attracted to. Any weirdness of dress, lisps, and general silliness is completely unrelated to their orientation. (not that its a bad thing if they act that way, mind.)
Out of all the people i've met who acted sort of real life hildebrands, absolutely 0 of them were gay. On the other hand, people are shocked when they find out i am, because im apparently too ordinary.
Now Cid on the other hand... he can marry me any day <3![]()
Arigato, this was an intervention of the Hildibrand's French Fan Club. ♪

You said it pretty well, don't worry. What, Hidlibrand is gay!???
I'm not sure what is the proper english word to describe this but I always thought he was more like the kind of guy trying to hard to impress the womens to a point where he is only ridiculous and always fails even if in his mind he his perfect.
What you mean is H. quite is the kind of guys who like to show off - and you're right.![]()
