In-game marriage, will it make a return?

So make it even more fun and do it all yourselves, instead of wanting the game devs to waste resources in doing the process for you. Though I guess going as far as asking them to implement a tux/wedding dress and stuff like that into the game wouldn't be a stretch and wouldn't waste nearly as many resources. Also being able to sign gear, so you can craft low level rings with names on them.

In the mean time why don't we have them take out the Chocobo raising, this is obviously wasted time on something we don't need. Actually, lets take out all Social aspects in the game, who the hell needs that in a MMO?

MMO's are an amalgamation of things:

Social Aspects
Ability Aspects
Determination Aspects

I'm sure there's more. But just because YOU don't enjoy it does not mean it shouldn't be in the game. Some people dislike raid type scenarios, should those be removed or never designed? There's a reason there's dozens of aspects added with each patch/ex-pack, so that there's something there for everyone and not just one type. This falls into the social aspect, something you're not fond of for whatever reason.

And I'll continue the broken record statement: No one's asking for it right now. There are indeed more important things to be focused on at the moment. However, some would like to see it added down the road in an ex-pack or when appropriate.

I wouldn't mind seeing it added to XIV, again as long as same genders are permitted and cross races are permitted.

I never said I didn't like it or it was/would be a waste of time. I was saying in light of everything else and it being a player driven game people should initiate and make the weddings happen themselves. Hell I am sure if they see the forums lighting up by user inspired created content they would be a lot more likely to give in and make it official.

I mentioned several ideas and thoughts about it also I mainly said right now I don't think the community is fitting, though again most of you agree you would just like to see it added sometime in the future. Until then lets show them some inspirational ideas by hosting player based weddings with pictures and post them on the forums. Though honestly as I said before as well I don't think currently the community is up to it, maybe after 2.0 release and player housing comes out and plenty of content to keep everyone happy is when they should worry about the social fun aspects. Though you mentioned Chocobo raising for a point, that is actually not a social aspect of the game but for entertainment plus it has actual beneficial results because of the buddy system. Plus it was their idea to implement it and has already been worked on so it is in no way related to the points I was making.

I know it wasn't added to FFXI until uhmmm I think shortly after it was released for PS2? Anybody know for sure?? :3

Blah, blah, blah. . . . put marriage in game. Free-for-all, race and gender. People will be wtf?! whyyy?!?!?! for a week then they'll forget about it, if it's something that doesn't interest them as an activity.

Same like Gobbues. A lot of people were really excited about them, a lot were appalled, now no one cares or rides them. Give marriage to those who wanna ride their spouse!

I hope weddings return, even though I never had one or even attended to one in FF11. I'm sure they are pretty nice events that make some parts of the community stronger.

I did however get me an opaline dress. Those look wonderful. I hope we get some really pretty gear options in FF14 as well.
