Data Center Travel is ruining server Party Finder

A lot of people here don't understand that it's not the players' job to make the game work. It's broken in it's current state, and Square is responsible for fixing it.
I don't care how difficult it would be to implement a cross DC party finder, they either need to implement it somehow, or remove DC travel. It's downright terrible to be a raider based in Crystal. I've tried reviving the raiding scene, and it's left me sitting there waiting for a PF to fill for 10 hours on a saturday for a raid with ten PF entries over on Aether.
What annoys me the most is the people here who just accept that this is the only way it can be instead of considering that it can be fixed.
You want a solution from me? Have all DCs within a region access the same cross DC Party Finder. This could be hosted on one of the already existing Data Centers, maybe separate from the Cross World PF. When you join the party, it prompts you with a confirmation that you will need to cross Data Centers to properly join. Click yes, and it goes through that whole process for you before logging you in again on the host's world.
Not a perfect solution, but it's perfectly doable on the infrastructure in-place. Don't try to tell me it's not. Data transfer from Server to Server is no harder than from Client to Server.

Perhaps they can scoop up some ex Blizzard employees...I heard 1,900 just got "let go" (fired) due to corporate incompetence in trying to please the share holder rather then the customers that purchase their games. If they can do this in WoW they can do it here...i'm over thinking that it's just to difficult to accomplish.

Last night was another issue that we ran into in discussing weather to take our EX event over to Aether to not waste time. Luckily we had enough interest from our FC and got the last two spots filled. If those spots were healer or tank on crystal PF...then it would again force me back into a role that I ALWAYS have to be....a tank. I want to DPS and get better at it since I have been a main tank for nigh a decade.

I just told the event leader...I don't want to MT or OT thanks. They said that's fine...but we should probably move to aether so we can get some tanks and heals faster. The party literally groaned in discord....no lie.

So we asked the FC one last time for any interest and we got some people that didn't sign up and were going to have to learn the fight.

I didn't care about the learning part, as I have all of my mounts completed for the Endwalker EX's...but I just wanted to get better at DPSing.

Moving a party to aether just to get a couple fills is pretty ridiculous, but one could also say just post in Crystal PF and see what you get.

Either way...we are waiting....the main difference is on Crystal...it's MUCH longer...by like a lot. And we only had a 2 hour event to farm EX's

It's totally fine if you're happy DC traveling for everything but at the very least there should be something in place so that people who want to do things on the DC they picked can actually do them lol. That's not asking for a lot.

I would almost say that's the very problem with "people all go to one point to do the raiding". A single DC now gets to set the culture for how things work now. Crystal and Primal now either get in line with what Aether is doing or they just don't really get to have a PF experience at all. If Aether has decided "sweat" is more important than "fun", then that's how things work now. Nobody else gets a say.

I do take issue with the rewriting of PF history I see people slowly doing though. Many are starting to paint it up like Crystal/Primal NEVER had a functional PF before DC travel, so that it was some kind of salvation for them, and that simply isn't true. You didn't have to wait long to fill a party on Crystal during normal play hours. "Get into content as quickly as possible" was already possible. People didn't go to Aether because of a dead PF; they went to Aether because it was known as "the raiding DC" and that's it.

If anything, for me personally, I now feel like having to go to Aether works against that goal. I can't just "get into content". I have to plan my night out. I can't just do things as I want to do them. Instead, I go to Aether for functional PF and I sit around with nothing else to planning out all the things I need to remember to do when I get "home" since I can't do any of them off-world. It's very much the opposite of getting to do content as quickly as possible.

Co-signed, fully agree. I don't care if everyone else wants to go to Aether. I care that I now no longer have the same game experience purely because I chose to homeworld on Crystal pre-DC travel and don't want to uproot my whole game life for a single piece of content (raiding). Square needs to provide a way for people who want to stay on their home DC to still have a full game experience.

Oh I agree fully. This is going to go down about as well as Raid Finder in WoW, which demolished a LOT of guilds.

It makes sense that people all go to one point to do the raiding: The entire point of sitting down when the player gets home and loads into the game is to get into doing something as quickly as possible so they're playing the game. Sitting in town for hours with nothing to do while waiting for the PF to fill is not really playing the game at all as much as being in an elevator.

Also, I feel like aether is kind of pushing this game a bit too much towards the "sweat" category vs being about "fun". The only reason someone goes to aether is for raiding or to catch a hunt train. No one is going there because they got friends there unless they are native, and from my experience the community that exists over there exists specifically at the raiding hours.

Primal PF has been pretty depressing, often with less than 1 full page of total parties up. It's reminding me of the old ARR/HW days when PF was your server only.
I've still been able to get Unreal/Ex trials done on Primal but it takes a bit to fill.

This thread needs to stay active in hopes it gets the attention it deserves. A lot of people here have really valid points and suggestions.
