Cross-DC partyfinder really needs to be a thing in Dawntrail.
And it's not because the raid scene is slowing, it was pretty much like this when patches just dropped.

This isn't how datacenters work, they can't just plug you in and out of instances across datacenters, and this isn't even considering the simplest things like the chatbox working outside of the instance, etc. Even if they somehow DID make this work, it would probably still use the queue system that is used when traveling to a different datacenter normally. Now imagine that when it was first implemented, visits taking excruciating amounts of time because EVERYONE was trying it out. Now imagine that on the regular. Not even taking in the fact even if it was normal visit times, it would still take a solid minute or two just to queue each time, which would probably make you complain even more. No, just go to whichever datacenter is more popular.

I think your missing the point of even having a server community in the first place. FC, Housing, Markets, server population plays a big part in that particular servers community. Now if you allow people to leave and visit another data center that all falls apart. I know I can get Grade 8 pots on adamantoise for around 2k cheaper per unit then on diabolos. I can't be the only one that does this. So that would mean if people just server transfer to purchase mats, materia, etc; then go back to their server that everything is 50% more expensive...well pretty much free gil. The raiding portion of DC travel is a problem in my opinion. Some would think it's no big deal to sit for a minute to travel. For me it's more then that. I think about a servers community. It begs the question..."Why even have a server of choice at all?". Just move to a DC and stay there and just be active on your FC's discord.
Seems kinda backwards.
I think YOU are. When people come together there is always going to be the bigger group. Does it suck that Aether is the most popular place to raid now? Yes. Was it inevitable. Yes. Some people need to suck it up and accept, unless they decide to reverse this, that Aether is the place to be. There is nothing people are going to do.

Just accept the fact Summoner isn't the way it was and get over it....the new summoner is now more poplar...and that's the way it is.
Your argument your TRYING to make has no merit.
Making an observation that DC travel has pretty much funneled all raiding into one DC is one thing.....force your player base to migrate just to complete EX/High End...that's another.
Of which your missing the later point. The communities have decided that's the way it shall be....Might as well delete the other DC's and just merge them into 1 then...no more DC travel...solved.
More cross-DC quality of life features would be great to supplement the DC travel option. In this thread some doubt has been expressed about how such a feature could even work, but I think it's important to remember that none of us actually knows how this game operates except the staff (and even the staff will occasionally come out and say that X is impossible, only to implement X a few months later), so for all we know they're working something out that we haven't considered yet because we just don't have all the pieces in front of us. I wish I'd bookmarked all the threads where forumgoers shot down the possibility of even having cross-dc travel to begin with. And they gave very reasonable sounding explanations that turned out to be totally baseless and full of hot air because, yeah, we're all just in the dark and none of us have a dad working at Square Enix.
So, yeah. Here's hoping we see some beefing up of the system soon! Even if in the end it proves to be impossible, it costs nothing to come here and ask for better.

This is a great example btw. Thanks for taking the time to illustrate.
I would love to see the statistics of this over 6 months.
So you got all the Golbez weapons presumably from buying them with the totems.. and you're complaining you had to grind totems for the mount? You made your own problem.
