That triple triad is not unlocked for ARR players

According to online resources, it's available as soon as you've done:

- "A Wild Rose by Any Other Name", which is a level 17 ARR main scenario quest
- "By the Toe", a level 10 quest with no prerequisite to complete
- unlocked Triple Triad, which can be done by unlocking and traveling to the Gold Saucer once you've finished the "[City State] Envoy" level 15 main scenario quest

Seems like it's unlockable for ARR players, unless there's some big prerequisite I've missed somewhere.

I'm currently in the process of working my way through HW, and *cannot* interact with the NPC for TT for last week. I'm pretty sure he's gatekept by being in HW, though that's never stated anywhere I can find. I *do* have TT unlocked, so I can't imagine any other reasons he won't play cards with me Maybe he just thinks my bun bun is stinky?

Yeah, I have no idea what else it could be. I've got characters in ARR (2.0 and 2.x) and in Stormblood that are able to do it just fine, once they've unlocked Triple Triad vs NPCs by doing the tutorial match.

Agreed, my friend is on Free trial and was given a Shadowbringers Raid for their weekly. That is ridiculous.

That's why I noted appreciation for the TT duel being in an ARR sanctuary--I do not want to assume that next week's minimog will be like that! Since I created the thread, it does seem like everyone has the same minimog challenge this week.

However, the weekly challenge that varies from player to player doesn't have a second option.

All but one character could NOT do the weekly because it was for an instance they couldn't unlock yet. This should not be a thing!

Controversial, but, I'd rather have players complaining about things they can't access yet, vs players complaining that they want the easy tomes that low level players get.

Ok but some players get Cutters Cry, Praetorium, Porta Decumana, Hard versions of the ARR Trials, one of the Crystal Tower raids... and anecdotally it seems like more of my end game friends are getting those than MSQ sprouts or early level alts are getting them.

I'm all for the RNG element, I just think it should cap out at or very close to the character's current MSQ progress. Certainly not entire *expansions* ahead of where they are.
