The new format is nice but I hate that the Gancanagh card isn't a reward.

It's never things from the current expansion, only a handfull of them are from the one before.
I don't want to be rude, but that's just hiding the problems under a rug... Of course we're gonna talk less about the parts that work and spend more time about the part that feel wrong. There is no discussion needed when everyone agrees. Like how everyone agrees that the change of format is a good thing, that the problem this time is the reward. Give the same reward with the old event and nobody would have batted an eyes. Maybe a few message about how there is try to make thing interesting. Here people reacted because they see the effort, but it still achieved to fail at the finishing line.
That whole "concentrating on the good things" feels so dumb to me, it feels like the FFXIV of "your job sucks, you're miserable, get no recognition and your salary is not high enough, but hey, we provided you ping pong table". Positive feedback is only usefull once to indicate "this was the way", negative is in nearly all the other case.
Plus the community is (or maybe was until EW) far more positive than negative. Forum is where complain get concentrated because that's the official platform. But if you look on reddit or any social media, there are far more positives than negative.

Not quite my point. I'm not saying to NOT talk about the things people dislike, I'm more concerned that SE doesn't hear the things people like and end up changing it for the worse because they never got any good feedback on it. Like how everyone complained and complained about relics and they gave up and said fine, it just costs tomes now. And then everyone starts complaining about how they liked x things about them and didn't want THAT bit changed, but SE never heard the good feedback and just assumed it was all bad. Essentially, I want people to talk about both good and bad instead of just hearing "I hate x" over and over again. And yes, while social media has a lot of positives, this is the main place for SE to get feedback. They're not reading random people's tweets or reddit threads.

I agree that this is a really much more fun way to do the Moogle tomestone event, my only wish is that it took into account where you are in the MSQ. My Alt (whom I've been focusing on) has mostly ??? as options, including for the weekly. That's kinda disappointing. Also, having level 80 zone names in the minimog challenge is a tiny bit spoiler-y for people who aren't there yet. Yes, my Main is through 6.55, so I know about these things, and yes, I like this version better, I just wish it was coded to not include things you can't do.
For example, I can't do the weekly, nor the minimogs, due to where I'm at in MSQ. (Yes I know one is Triple Triad, but because I have not finished HW yet he won't play me. At least, I think that's the reason. I've got TT unlocked, but cannot play that particular NPC).
Aside from that feedback, LOVE the rest of it!
My only complaint aside from somewhat lacking rewards is the weekly objective seems to not account for MSQ progress, an alt of mine got Sophia when they are in ARR still. I have heard Trial accounts can pull Hidden Gorge which is something they aren't even allowed to participate in. A friend pulled Zurvan while another pulled Eden on their alts in ARR as well. I would say maybe set some story progression checks on the weekly objective.

I'm onboard with the new feature, sure the rewards are lack luster, but I went to the level 71 areas and actually seen people in the wild doing fates. It's great to see. This is an mmo and anything that gets more people doing things together rather than idling in cities the better.
To improve it, I would have more daily and weekly requests but keep them the same for everyone or have strict sets of them. You don't want to be filtering people all over the place. This is a great way to fill duties that don't normally pop. Things like Delub ect in Bozja would be great objectives as some people are still struggling to get decent sized parties going for it. 24 man, some coil perhaps. As long as there are several options for each tier so people don't feel forced to do a certain thing, a choice of 4 or 5 for the weekly. Maybe 2 easy ones for a daily. Then keep the big one.
Whilst not the best thing they have released, I am pretty sure it's the non combat thing I am happy most with since the patch content started. Shame we couldn't have tied the relic to something cool like this, but it's a step in the right direction.
Great structure. Lacking rewards.
Idk why they struggle so much with thinking about interesting rewards for their systems that aren't the 8-man raids.
A great idea for a reward system for this improved Moogle event could be using the 'joke winner' weapons from the design contest as cosmetic glamours. However, I know that having great value rewards in the Moogle events might be problematic in the FOMO sense, so I'd also propose that old rewards could be purchased at a more expensive exchange rate, so although they aren't available all the time, you can get them during the month preceding a content patch.
I enjoy the new format but it defeats the purpose doesn't it? The purpose of these events is to get people into content while the game is dead before the next update to help populate stuff. The rewards are things that you can easily get elsewhere, with only one unique but very minor thing that you'll never actually get to see worn or used. So if they're just tacking on solo things to get the rewards like Triple Triad on an NPC, what's the point of the event? Just to help some people get some stuff they don't already have by playing the game normally? Doesn't really help solve the queues which was the intention.
I liked the whole 10 minutes it took to complete.
