PALADIN Cover ability (taking damage of party memeber) question

Does it take damage before or after mitigations of party memeber applies (like another party Rampart or something)? Or do I take clean damage intended for party member before any manipulations? Later, isn't it?

Any other interesting facts about cover?

Hallowed grond doesn't prevent the damage redirected to you through cover. That's the only thing l know about cover in pve. But that trick works in pvp.

I'm not a cover expect I generally only use it in early duties as OT or when I need to protect someone like a RDM/SMN while they get a rez up on a healer.

Although I'm pretty sure It's after, from what I've heard Rampart, Sentinel ect. Will still mitigate on you taking covered damage, I don't think you will take other peoples mitigations (lets say a DRK uses Shadow wall, that will still only apply to them, But if you use sentinel it will apply through your own Cover) So in early content you can like pop lots of mits for ur MT and cover them if you really want. Hallowed ground is a exception to this rule it doesn't work.

Interesting facts about Cover? hmm well it can be used as anti knockback on a target party member as you soak up their knockback effects, can be really helpful and allowing a melee to keep up time or prevent a knockback breaking a cast, if you pop arms length I'm pretty sure you both become Immune to knockback effects. You also can soak debuffs for your target which can be helpful.

Cover is funny, I personally wish they would improve it's interactions a bit more as It's such a cool concept that rarely gets used. Also add more fights where bosses target non MT's i remember that mech was there early game, it would actually give cover something interesting over other tanks, I also find the very lacking range one of the biggest issues more then anything.

It entirely ignores the covered target (unless the mechanic is scripted to ignore cover instead), that means only your own buffs and debuffs factor into damage calculations.
