Do you think Machinist can work if one more tool is added to their kit?

Currently Machinist has 3 single target tools: Drill, Air Anchor and Chainsaw, and they have respectivelly 20, 40, and 60 seconds of cooldown. Let's say one more tool is added to their kit. One possible way to do this is to change their cooldowns to 15, 30, 45, 60, the other is to keep the existing ones and add a weird cooldown to the rotation (I can only see 30 and 120 working). I personally prefer the first option, even though it would increase the job's complexity way more.

Also, what new tool would you want to be added? The one I want the most is Noise Blaster but I think it suits as an upgrade for Flamethrower way more than as a single target. The one I can see working is a Photon Cannon, or even an electricity-based tool like a Tesla Gun. What are your opinions in this?

Does it actually interact with the kit, or is it another "just hits really hard" button like Drill? If the latter, then no thanks.

I'd like to see Noiseblaster if only to finally complete the set of Edgar's Tools from FFVI - of course how useful it could be is another matter entirelly! (Maybe have it as a cone shaped stun/confusion). But then I'm ony dabbling with MCH so I'm the last person that should be making an opinion on the usefulness of it's abilities.

I don't recall ever getting the Debilitator or Flash in this game on MCH

Now how did I forget those? You're totally right (I suppose we could say Flash was formerly in FFXIV though - as a spell for GLA/PLD... ). Thank you for reminding me of those (I don't ever remember really using them in FFVI to be honest, Autocrossbow and occassionally Chainsaw or Air Anchor were just too overpowered for anything else, so little wonder I forgot those other ones even existed! ).

So yeah, add those too.

Debilitator as it worked in FF6 isn't likely to happen since it just randomly assigned elemental weaknesses. It would have to do something different in FFXIV

Flash could be interesting as in FF6 it dealt magic damage instead of physical on top of inflicting blind on things it didn't kill.

Flash could be neat as an AoE tool in big pulls to give blind, although it'd be a shame if it was relegated to being AoE only, I just struggle to think of any other effect to give it in single target outside bigger potency, maybe increased heat generation?

Debilitator could possibly even increase the amount of fire damage taken so that Flamethrower can be a little more powerful.

Debilitator could work as a "increase damage dealt" debuff
Flash could work as the Photon Cannon I mentioned. I would like it to be a line AoE with a cast like SAM's Midare.

Then they pull a curve ball and give us Magitek Laser instead with a neato mosquito fire/ice/lightning combination animation.

And they give us Grenado Shot back while they're at it.
