Having extremely high latency in Singapore

Hello, I currently live in Singapore and have my character in the American servers. Latency should be around 170-200ms, but recently it's been around 400-500ms. Anyone else in Singapore having the same problems? Does anyone know why this could be happening or what I could do to solve it? Any help would be appreciated!

I did a tracert and found multiple packet drops but don't know what to do to solve it
    Code:
Tracing route to 204.2.29.8 over a maximum of 30 hops

Game seems to run a bit more consistent after turning on mudfish but everything feels jittery and all my GCDs take a lot of time to actually be input.

EDIT: Just connected to an alt I have on Chaos and the connection is way more consistent so I'm guessing it does have to do with routing from Singapore to America.

    Greetings gimmeoliver,

I'm really sorry to hear that it you've been experiencing issues.

We would like to ask for the following information to get a better idea of the issue:

    - Error messages (If any):
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless):
    - Has this been a long on-going issue or has this only been occurring very recently:
    - Frequency at which error occurs (If this occurs during specific hours, please provide the date(s), time and timezone):
    - Are there other programs being used when running FFXIV?:
    - Re-Confirm what data center and server/world were you trying to connect to?:
    - What is the ISP and what region/country are you connecting from?:

We would also like to ask what you have tried so far to alleviate the issue:

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

    Hello @Eenkalzet ,

    - I have not gotten any error messages
    - I'm on a wired Ethernet connection
    - This started around 2-3 weeks ago
    - It seems to be happening all day long
    - I've tried running the game with nothing open and it is still occurring
    - I'm connecting to Zalera on Crystal but it happens on all American Data Centers, not a problem when connecting to Europe's Data Centers
    - My ISP is StarHub Ltd and I'm connecting from Singapore

I tried using VPNs and other services to alleviate the issue. Mudfish seems to somewhat work and brings my ping back down to 180ms (which is usual for my region) but still has packet loss that makes the experience feel awful. ExitLag seemed to work better but costs quite a lot at around $12/month.

I'm hoping I can get a solution that doesn't require additional subscriptions and other software on top of the already existing game subscription.

Having almost the exact same problem with all the same details except that i'm trying to connect to Exodus on Primal from Singapore...
As close as i'm able to figure, there's intense lag at Telstra and Arelion nodes that connect to Singapore but i'm no expert...

I am also experiencing similar high ping starting around Christmas 2023.

My ping was consistently between 170-220ms back in December, but it has since increased to over 500ms. The lag is used to only occur around 4pm-1am SGT but it has gotten worse lately.

I have contacted my ISP to investigate the issue, but they have been unable to resolve it. This problem appears to be specific to Final Fantasy XIV, as I have not encountered it in any other games.

    Yep, same thing here.

If anyone's looking for a somewhat cheap fix temporarily, enabling WFP item mode in Mudfish seems to have brought my ping down to 180ms and the packet loss seems to be negligible as well.
Still hoping that SE fixes this soon though.

    Greetings gimmeoliver,

We're sorry to hear that you're still experiencing a connection issue despite all the troubleshooting you've tried. The team would like to suggest these other steps to try:

    - Within Microsoft Edge, click the "Settings" option on the top right of the browser (under the three dots shown) and go to "Privacy, Search and Services" and go to the "Tracking Prevention" section. Make sure it is turned on and select the "Balanced" option. Additionally, if any settings have been changed overall, it is best to keep things at default which you can perform manually by using the "Reset Settings" option under the "Settings" tab. Lastly, please ensure that Microsoft Edge is up to date by using the "Settings" > "About Microsoft Edge" option near the bottom left.

If the suggestions provided above does not resolve the issue, there may be a communication/routing error. At that point we may suggest other steps. Should it still not resolve the issue please do not hesitate to contact us back and we'll gladly look into it further.

@gimmeoliver and QS_W, Offpeak ping seems to have gotten better now, around midafternoon... before it bounces back up to 400~500+ from 5pm onwards... comes back down after 12~1am...
I'm probably not coming back to the post coz the mod doesn't seem to be taking other people's feedback into account... good luck bro

??? This has nothing to do with Microsoft Edge, what. I'm so confused, was this meant for some other post? I have not used Microsoft Edge in years but thank you for trying to help, I guess?

Yeah, I dunno about the moderator comments but the best I can do to help with the ping is the thing with Mudfish I mentioned, hope it gets better for you as well!

I am having similar ping as you during this weekend. Everything was fine before 7pm SGT but it started to spike to 500ms+ with horrible packet loss. The ping didn't even drop back to normal before I went to bed lol.
