I don't know why but the post got truncated.
I want to see Meteion in the open world. Even if it just means she flitters through the city states and lands on a lampposts or the market board.
They can do it with Alpha and Omega, they can do it to the blue bird.
I'm not even sure if that blue bird is supposed to be Meteion in any way.. But on that note, I definitely think they should look into making more NPCs that you've met along the way to appear in the overworld zones and hub cities. It's a good way to make the world feel a little bit more alive.
I think we were supposed to believe it was, although I guess it's open to personal interpretation.I'm not even sure if that blue bird is supposed to be Meteion in any way.. And whilst I accept that Wiki's are a questionable source of information, it does nonetheless say this on Meition's page:
"As the Scions of the Seventh Dawn publicly disbanded to resume protecting the Source from behind the scenes, the Warrior of Light saw Meteion in the form of a blue bird taking flight"
That's a citationless claim, it's got no weighting, and I find that the FF fandom wiki is REALLY shaky on this sort of thing for FFXIV specifically. That said, I do think that we as the players are clearly meant to connect A and B here; even if it's not Meteion, it's clearly meant to evoke her.And whilst I accept that Wiki's are a questionable source of information, it does nonetheless say this on Meition's page:

On the actual subject of the thread: I feel like there's a theoretical amount of 'oh hey that guy' NPCs that would be too much, that would make them no longer special. And counting Alpha and OMG as only one since they're a package deal, I doubt two of them would be 'too much'. ...however, then I'd have to add that it feels like Deryk should be one of them, and now we're entering into unsteady ground for me.
I also think it just isn't as good an idea for an MSQ character. For Alpha and OMG it's a nice bonus for going out of your way and doing optional content, but doing it with an MSQ figure feels somehow cheaper. I don't know quite how to describe it.
Didn't Alisaie describe Meteion telling the Scions that you'd be right behind her?
