Futures Rewritten Ultimate (The 'Unobtainable' Legend Title)

This is just my opinion and my opinion only, but I think this ultimate should be used to send a strong message out to all the gamers that the FF14 community should be greatly respected and given tremendous amounts of courtesy (i.e. no illegal mods, hacking, or illegal criminal DDOS attacks).

I think there should be a "prayer" emote requirement at an altar to give a player an item needed for a buff. This said buff will be required for the first part of this new Dawntrail ultimate fight. If players don't have this buff, no damage can be dealt to the enemy in the Dawntrail ultimate raid. Players will be able to queue for the fight, but no damage will be dealt unless they have the buff.

This item can only be given on a weekly basis on the same reset Tuesday schedule.

That means your unique party will only have one chance per week with this buff to try to clear the Dawntrail ultimate.

    Your thoughts?

Just curious, how does the first part relate to the second? Or was it just two separate concepts? Taking them as separate:

    1. There are a lot of third party tools (or should I say tool with add-ons). I don't mind they exist but it does exist in a powerful don't ask don't tell void thanks to SE intentionally not allowing them officially (it took longer than I expected, as I said like 10 years ago when they thought they could get around it by just making their UI good, but now that the tools are out there the QoL is substantial and exclusive to those who use it).

    2. I think this would make learning the content exceptionally impractical for many players, as they could only learn once before they had to come back around. Small goofs would infuriate the community and ultimately ultimate content, I think, would go from a vast minority to a super concentrated minority and ultimate sellers. If the challenge is meant to be preserved perhaps they can snapshot jobs at their proper intended balance and require you to play the snapshot (rather than getting to potentially overpower it due to expansion shifts). That and add more random unknowable mechanics (stuff that is loaded into memory at the same time the player needs to react, so you can't use tools to help respond, that much at least). Though I think it's probably fine just to leave it alone and not do either.

Just my imo that it would push the content further into obscurity, and especially increase the rate of third party tools because each attempt would be 'we don't have time to learn naturally, we got one shot this week'.

People would just use alts to prog it then.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

I'm... guessing, here. Likely incorrectly. But guessing, that the implication is that it would be much more difficult to build effective callout things because you get one go and then you're not going back in for a week. No constant retries to refine, tweak, etc. And while they would come eventually, it's more likely that the world first and other early competition would be genuine.

Can't blame anyone for using an alt on here.

That said this idea makes no sense. It doesn't accomplish anything in regards to 3rd party programs or cheating, and it just makes progging insanely difficult. The community around ultimates is already really niche, this would shrink it so much.

FFXIV community is just like any other community. Also to your opinion that sounds more of a headache and a hinderance to the raiders out there such as myself. They already time gate content as it is.

The prayer thing is entirely unnecessary and Ultimates are already running up against the buff cap, you could manage the idea with the same system as the 100 daily dungeon allowances if you just tweak it to be weekly with one allowance for this specific content. That said Ultimates are way too hard for such a limit, even at the maximum alt cap per account and buying level skips it would take years and years. Also your idea doesn't mention if "chance" applies to a single wipe or a full lockout.

A challenge you can do once a week would be interesting as an info gathering exercise. Extreme difficulty fights would likely be the sweet spot for this.
