the rewards look nice and unique as well

There are varying degrees of complaint and I'd imagine people are responding to those who are losing their shit over this rather than those who have well spoken concerns/complaints.
Personally it was an unexpected/pleasant surprise and that's all it is to me

I'm not. I like the fact that there are multiple good weapons. Nobody said you needed to have them all.

Anyway, I'm excited, this was totally unexpected.

people who complain about having all the/too many weapons, have you considered this...

don't keep all the weapons? do you really use all of them? could you perhaps materialize, trade in for seals the ones you don't use as much. think about it. nobody is forcing you to keep every single weapon, if you want to collect that's fine too. but don't be like "UGHHH sooo many weapons, why can't I hold all these weapons!!!"
