Friends / Players visiting is ok...like in FFXI, where party members could come in & have look around.
But... with a Major But ^-^, that was only cool for one reason & one reason only... to show off your funky stuff such as furnitures, event items you gathered over the years etc.

Something FFXIV is completly lacking & most of us old FFXI vets want back,
especially with an advanced Crafting system that we have.

So... Still insanly high hopes Furnitures can be crafted & placed
in housing in 2.0 at some point.

(imo it would be fantasticly stupid NOT to implement such things)

Well, they already had some items for furniture creation at launch if I'm not mistaken. I'm sure they intend to put them to use at some point.

Hey, if you really want to share housing, just start a guild/PC house and have a 2 person guild/PC...

You can only be in one FC at one time.

I don't see why this would be a big deal. Make it so only the person who placed the items can move them, and it wouldn't hurt anyone.
Don't even have to get married to live together.
