Player housing, with a twist!

While it would work perfectly with in-game marriages, I would like this feature to work independently of that. What I had in mind was that you'd either get one half of the floor space each, where each player had control over the furniture layout of their side, or that they could decide to let both players furnish both sides as they pleased.

In case of a split, each player's furniture would just automatically be moved to their respective new single-person rooms.

With FF14 supporting real instances, unlike FF11, I also imagine that each player house could have something like an outdoors area attached to them, where you could do something like gardening or just chill out.

And again, it should of course be entirely optional so that anyone who wanted their own house for just themselves would not experience any penalties or downsides compared to a two-man house.

Do you think one of the players would be able to steal the other person's gear or something? Don't be silly. If you got tired of your roomie, you could just pack your bags and leave any second you wanted.

They could always have an apartment type feature(2 adjoining rooms or w/e). That way each player gets to decorate their room to their taste. I'd be up for this idea.

edit: a lot of people seem to be against the idea due to inevitable drama an in-game relationship(lol) would bring. You don't have to room with someone you're dating! I'd personally love to share an apartment feature with one of my friends in game!

I'm too lazy to read through, but wasn't there a mention of Linkshells sharing some sort of house? Like an LS manor I suppose.
