Frontlines sucks Ultra megathread

This thread didn't mention Astrologian much at all, just DRG. All of the sweaty tryhards just go DRK AST+AST+AST because Macrocosmos and gravity are all instant burst that are up faster than Skyshatter, not to mention Macro snapshots so fucking early that if you're in nin stealth it breaks you out of stealth before you even see the ability effect go off, plus you're not going to react fast enough to Guard before taking three macros to the face. It's very, VERY easy to get 20+ kills and 3 million damage consistently by playing AST with a dark knight that doesn't int.

It's not only the burst damage they can put out, they have insane burst healing potential as well. They pair incredibly well with DRK not only for the salted pull nuking, but they can heal up a DRK easiest of any healer if things go poorly.

AST is honestly the worst offender in the blender combo but it would be mid without DRK so it's again just a Salted Earth issue.

I still think it's a poorly balanced synergy issue.

DRK with it's LB and salted earth is annoying, but on its own are manageable.

AST's burst with macro and gravity are potent, but on their own not OP.

DRG's LB on it's own is potent, but reasonable.

And of course also honorable mentions to DNC and RPR LB guard breaking.

It's when combinations of these are executed together that we see FL balance absolutely fall apart, when 2-3 players coordinating LBs together can wipe entire full parties with ease. And let's be honest they really don't take all that much effort to coordinate, especially if it's being done as a premade team that intentionally team stacks the correct jobs for it. The difficulty most non-premade teams have is the players tend not to be try-hard enough to coordinate for it.

If SE isn't going to properly balance jobs for FL, then they should just split the FL queues between solo and team, so at least the more casual FL players don't constantly get stomped.

If it was up to me I'd grant you not only this "title," but also a lifetime achievement award if it meant I never had to play with another premade.

I also have a list of suggestions for titles that could only be earned by premades, but my natural reticence prevents me from sharing them here.

As I've mentioned countless times, my objection is that meta stacks produce tedious matches. I'd far prefer a matchmaking algorithm to more draconian measures. Solo players didn't create this problem, those determined to maximize their personal win-rate while destroying the mode did.

Solo players have consistently been able to deny those meta stacks by playing around them or to counter them, especially on WAR. If you want an algorithm that factors in win rate and splits teams better, sure thats fine and something I think most people would get on board with. However if you want to improve the FL experience overall with differing reward scaling, giving 0.25x rewards to the bottom performing players in each alliance that don't pass a baseline would do far more good for improving FL than giving 0.25x rewards for people who queued as 4 since lazy and entitled players not pushing buttons are much more of an issue than meta stacks.
