Where did I say that the quotes of mine that you include are misrepresenting my position? I didn't. Because that would be ludicrous. But there you go again claiming I said something that I didn't.

It's not my fault your analogies are complete disasters. For example, I have some quibbles with the offside and hand-ball rules in soccer. But why on earth would I wish to change the rules so that 97% of the population who don't play the game would want to? This illogical rambling is lower than sophistry.

I do so to better understand the topic and the positions of others so I can refine my own position. Have you ever considered such an approach? Not going to lie, even as someone who runs with these "premades" a lot, when I solo queue, 7/10 times I ignore dark knights whose names I don't recognize or when I can tell they're clearly not cut out for the job after the first engagement in favor of running around ratting

Square Enix: sincerely, why is it so hard to balance pvp? You HAVE to know by now how broken Salted Earth is. You have had about 2 years to fix this broken ability and you've done nothing about it. Why? Why?? Are you having trouble finding the delete button? Cuz I can personally fly to your offices and show you where the delete button is. Honestly DRK would be fine without Salted Earth. It would be better even, because it wouldn't be a broken job that plebs wouldn't default to because they aren't skilled enough at pvp that they have to resort to a broken job to make their fragile little egos feel better. Honestly, I'm having trouble understanding why SE hasn't done anything.

This one ability is the reason Frontline sucks so much.

"But if they fix Salted Earth, the meta will just be something else!" Then I expect SE to do something about that as well! Doesn't every pvp game in existence have constant balance updates to make it fun and fair for everyone? Every game except FFXIV, it seems. I really sincerely don't understand why SE is so hell-bent on keeping pvp as the joke that it is.

It's even more ironic because I'm almost certain the reason why PVE and PVP skills are done separately is so they *could* balance skills in PVP without it affecting PVE, which is so often the issue that plagues other MMOs where skills are universal across both kinds of content and thus an absolute hell to keep balanced because buffs and nerfs applied to PVE carry straight over to PVP.

And yet... FF14 has some of the most poorly maintained and exploited PVP in an MMO, up to and including abandoned modes and maps that have been out of rotation longer than they were originally available. Can't even say it's because "oh they were busy working on other parts of the game" because Dawntrail proves that was hardly the case.

PvP is a complete afterthought for the Devs it feels like. They literally balanced all of the skillsets of the last rework exclusively for 5v5 Crystalline Conflict, with the only balancing for Front Lines was to adjust incoming and outgoing damage on certain jobs. As if that somehow magically makes small scale PvP tuning scale up properly to a 24v24v24 setting with the Battle High snowballing mechanic. Not to mention that it took them what feels like ages just to fix the paladin invuln capping exploit, for what should have been corrected in a hotfix patch.
