[dev1028] Need roaming monsters that aggro

The world is far too peacefull, we need more dangers when traveling around.

Right now you can walk almost anywhere and there's nothing but goats, rats, etc..
the game is currently a walk in the park, seems pointless to have adventurers around.

Beastmen and other aggresive mobs should be added all over the place including on the roads, and lots of them. At night there should be undead all over.

How to make it so it's fun:

-Have Beastmen drop a form of currency that is needed for some kind of event bronze/silver/gold for example. This will provide a reason for adventurers to hunt them down as they travel the map. Maybe even have them drop chests full of shards.

-At nightime should have more undead running around and how about zombies that can "pop" out from the ground like worms used to do in ffxi. Have different music during nightime to make a more "spooky" feeling. Sould also drop unique items.

Add Lore to it: (reason for them existing in the world)

    - Zombies can be fallen soldiers from there respected cities.
    - Beastmen (story here)

Let's make Eorzea a fun and exciting place to be in!

Other than the occasional sneaky Antling Digger griefing unsuspecting noobs, I agree the mob distribution is very monotonous. Entire beautiful zones filled with squirrels make me never want to travel back again. Very few areas are even worth farming due to their localized concentration of worthwhile mobs.

For instance, not including leves there are six map sqares around the Muy-Tun Cellar entrance that I will farm out of the entire zone of the Black Shroud. Obvious example, but I hope it conveys the point. As you mention the zones being full of rats and squirrels are quite pointless.

Roaming aggressive monster packs would be interesting, and your other suggestion to add undead mob spawns during night cycles reminds me of Aion. Both could work well to spice up the world and give reason for travelling to various areas.

I'm guessing you haven't been out of the main 3 zones yet (La Noscea, Thanalan & Black Shroud). Walking around Coerthas or Mor Dhona there's a great many aggressive monsters running around that will mess you up. Almost died a few times running through for one story quest.

They already drop a special form of currency, there's just not a use for it yet.

Also there are Wights that spawn in some areas at night, they're just few and far between.

I can travel from Limsa to Ishgard gates and not get attacked by anything, I would like a little more excitment/challenge on the journey.

They are already planing to add roaming beatsmen, my suggestion is to add some on the roads and also add more undead at night, LOTS of them

If you stick near the road and the areas around whatever camps you normally go to, then yes, it is pretty peaceful. However, danger is just around the corner. For example, travel up a bit from R20 Camp Tranquil to Silent Arbor and you will find high rank aggro mobs galore. Or venture into Tam-Tara which is just a short ways from town.

Actually, north-ish of Camp Emerald Moss used to be pretty dangerous. Aggro mobs everywhere, and at R10 that sure was exciting and dangerous seeming to me! xD But there is less aggro in that area now, probably for the sake of gatherers. I may have loved battling there, but I sure didn't like having wolves hanging around my mining nodes.

And there is a lot of aggro at Nanawa and around Broken Water, which to be honest is really annoying. I get tired of killing a bunch of mites during my leves, and solo/at lower ranks the aggro makes some leves extremely difficult to complete.

I do agree though, we could use a little more excitement in the mob department.

I'm personally hoping when the beastmen and Garlean story progresses they will add beastmen and Garlean army members everywhere.

An improvement is rly needed, don't enjoy killing rats and weeds past lvl 5ish... Also the night cycles does not necessarily need to be undeads, the simple fact of adding random nocturnal aggressive mobs would already be good.

I remember getting eaten by ants on the way from Gridania to Uldah after exiting the pass.
Caused so much grief they moved the ants underground...lol
