*Forgive me in advance if this is the wrong sub-forum

I would like to bring up an idea regarding the future of gamepad mapping within the configuration.

As it stands now, each button of a typical modern gamepad with 12 buttons, 2 analog and a d-pad is set-up with a limited number of options to fill each slot wherever the player wishes.

As 2.0 draws near, I wish to be able to map not just "where" but "what".

Meaning: instead of using "Change View" to map [button 3], I might prefer to map "Jump" and leave "Change View" off the gamepad, and instead leave it on the keyboard.

In addition to this, I would like the option to have target settings added as options also. To elaborate, I type of the current in-game target structure via the [f#] keys. So instead of having the "View Status Effects" mapped, we might replace it with "Target nearest NPC", or "Target PT member 1-8".

I feel this is a very vital step toward the future of FFXIV. As more and extreme end game opportunities arise, I believe this freedom could help change the strides of battle for many.

Thank you always for your time.
