I think that's something that I personally wished I saw others do too. I love the creativity that people can think of!! but!! These super small tiny builds in my experience, outside of taking one of two screenshots, are just completely useless. People cant fit in them, can't hang out in them, functionality is almost 0...and another thing I've noticed, is if these houses are so tightly compacted into just one or two tiny rooms with the full item slot usage taken up, it makes the inside of the house a bit laggy to be in, too. If people took a more functional approach to these types of builds more often, I personally think that would be a lot more interesting to see. None of this is to say that condensed styles are so terrible, but more like, just to say that the ones who combine both ideas are just very nice to see, and I think if they caught on a little more often, then glitching in itself wouldnt be looked at as harshly as it can be, at times.
In my opinion, as a glitcher, you can't have enough clutter to make the space look lived in AND cover up all the ugly walls without using a single floor. The very first thing I do in most cases is make my own walls and lowered ceiling (with the koi ponds on top so your camera can't clip through the ceiling. Then I start decorating and moving walls where I need. That's already a good 20-50 decoration slots. Add in custom walkways, lighting, water, windows, etc... there is not a lot of room left over for clutter.

I decorate using the standard in-game interface, and have got the loft, riviera wall shelf and stage panel glitches burned into my memory (Storage glitch too).

I don't use third-party tools like quite a few players seem to, and I say that as it is extremely obvious when players have used tools to unnaturally sink large furnishings into a floor in an Apartment or Room, or basement floor of a personal house. I have seen furnishings displayed rotated through impossible angles too.

About 90% of the need to glitch could be eliminated if lofts just acted like floors, and stairs could attach to any side of the loft!

And as others have said, putting pillows and plushies onto other furniture. Most of it would be fixed if we actually had a vertical placement axis.

I float items (ps5 user) personally I prefer doing it the manual way. It forces you to really consider what you place rather then throwing spaghetti at the wall n seeing what sticks ( You can do this in early stages of a buildbut it's a lot more difficult in the later stages to suddenly change course. And forces you to find create solutions around the limitations of the system.

My goal with our large FC was to use the whole space, but also make it look nice. I find it kinda bizzare when people glitch but waste the entire basement/top floor. But people can do whatever they want!

Generally its because they want to do something complex; particularly with lighting; item limits get eaten up really fast. Its even worse if you want to have a hall or something for your FC's achievements due to the trophy eating item limit. The reality is that without glitching your often going to see the "same same" look to many designs as items otherwise look out of place in a build (as many use Hingan bookshelves to make edging) the result is often in larges your forced to use large items that can feel out of place; or worse your dealing with the native pillars or edge of stairs. Larges feel like they were designed with making "rooms" in mind; so they deliberately give you too much space for the item limit. I've seen larges that don't really partition and admittedly I am not a fan cause they look like someone just threw everything everywhere in a effort to fill up the space.

That said I feel making a large into 1 super complex room is equally offputting - not to mention the targetting you have to go through and potential sticky issues.

Just curious to know how many people prefer glitching, natural or a combination of both perhaps & reason why.

I personally I may be one of the minority that prefers natural due to reasons being such as expand my creativity & being on a Ps5 console this makes it more convenient on my end.
I would prefer a natural design but the items in the game are so clunky, large or just nonexistent, so I'm forced to be creative by methods of glitching
I glitch so much you'd have thought I took both the red and blue pill offered by Morpheus
But it is worth it bc when people see my finished designs, I get alot of "this looks like straight out of a Ghibli film" bc I'm a clutterbug who loves plants and magic stuff

It takes me a long time to get things as pristine as I like them; awkward camera movements- item storage glitching by force placing it- floating multiple things- while it sounds bad, I promise it's all within the means of what the game allows

I think it boils down to personal preference and taste...Glitching put me off of decorating my house for awhile because I was intimidated, I really enjoyed decorating the outside. I feel like it's interesting to see what people end up creating, I find it really interesting when people find creative ways to essentially 'make' a piece of furniture not even in the game through combining and glitching stuff together.

I don't mind either, I find that both have their charms.

I enjoy cluttered areas, they feel abit cozy to me. I've seen some really amazing stuff on housingsnap and I'm always fascinated by people's ideas honestly...

I do prefer the glitched housing styles that get creative with combining certain items to create something really unique. That said, I do prefer that and a creative layout that makes it look like a FF14 house still but also intricate enough to make it look unique. Those combos need a certain degree of glitching and lots of item slots sometimes

That said 400 item slots are just really not enough to add details like lighting, table tops, rugs, wall items on a mansion which is quite a shame but I digress...

I just dislike glitching and hate most houses that used it too much, or used so many items for it they had to close up the basement or 1st floor lol

the only glitch ive ever used was placing my poor lala npc on the lala podest - they deserve justice!
