    Glitching vs. Natural design

Good morning dear house designers/ fellow Eorzeans! Happy Friday!

Just curious to know how many people prefer glitching, natural or a combination of both perhaps & reason why.

I personally I may be one of the minority that prefers natural due to reasons being such as expand my creativity & being on a Ps5 console this makes it more convenient on my end.

I do minimal glitching, only because it can be frustrating sometimes depending on what you’re trying to do… I have maybe 10 or so items out of my 200 limit that are placed with glitches. Mostly the storage placement glitch and the disable counter placement glitch because I find those easiest to work with, and easiest to change around when there’s new items I want to add, or when I decorate for the various seasons/holidays. But I do have two floor sofas that I floated on to lofts! I only tend to float things I know I’m not going to want to move around.

That’s very smart thinking!! I cannot imagine glitching an entire house, only to manually redo it when new furniture appears & its basically frustratingly.

Makes sense to follow that approach.

I prefer to play within the games intended design. Unpopular opinion, I know.

    Not at all!

I am with you, although to openly admit I did glitched before for my current apartment on elevating items & even then, doing it from Ps5 drove me insanely mad & though I was glad with the end result I swore never again (hell I even forgot how I did & lost that youtube ffxiv guide for it).

I will glitch but I try to keep things looking like they fit into the game world instead of going after some of the real world looks that many enjoy. Not glitching means too much empty vertical space that looks awkward more often than not. Being able to add a furnished loft or decorative ceiling makes a huge difference.

While I tend to agree, housing design falls far short since we lack the ability to place items on the Z axis. I don't use mods, at least. Any glitching I do is achieved solely through the game controls.

I do light glitching. I'll place items in areas they normally can't go, but I don't do that process to combine ten items to make them look like a fridge, or whatever.

I'll glitch stuff to fit into place, but I more mean using a tool to build a house. Meh. Nothing skillfull or special about it. The challenge of making a house look good without the use of tools > a modern.

    Sounds like console player envy.

I don't care what tools people use; I infrequently use glitching when it calls for it; but honestly the majority of glitching requires too many items to be worth it. Seeing Larges glitched down to 1 intricate room is both impressive and saddening; that said some folks are really creative with the glitching and really whether they do it through the ball bustering methods or shelves or other far easier to use methods - I don't consider myself so special for knowing how to hit the sweet spot *he heh innuendo*

Not quite. They usually look like copies of the next guys house and are kinda unimaginative.

Also the strip bar in the bakery shops are kinda confusing too..
