[Solution Needed] 60FPS cap is holding FFXIV back

Square Enix acknowledged in the past that they wanted to find a solution to the 60FPS cap limitation FFXIV has; let's remind them that most of us have at least a 120Hz monitor by now.

While the game allows us to remove the FPS cap it removes cloth, earrings, ears, and other natural in-game physics, which looks really bad visually when most games today achieve fluid physics no matter what FPS the game's running at.
For a game that touts the PC Benchmark so much, it hard-caps the game 60FPS visually.

Time to partner with Nvidia and solve the physics issues Square Enix, thanks.

Yeah, they should solve this. Games getting old though. I'm losing faith, I hope FF17 is an MMO.

60fps is and will remain king for a LONG time.

To add on, 120Hz screen doesn't matter if the GPU can't output that.
Hell, 1440p is expensive for PC. 1080p upscaled to 4k / 4k 60FPS will be a standard for a bit.
Just a couple years ago 1440p 120Hz dual monitor set up w a 3070 and i5 would cost you alone around 3-3.5k.
I don't think the devs will expect people to have this base budget.

TBH I feel like most of the people obsessing over those numbers can't actually tell the difference without something on screen telling them what they're at. They just want big numbers because their brain says big number is good number... >.>

Anyway, just uncap frames and then limit them via NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Adrenalin.
    Done.

I stopped using the in-game frame limiter a while ago.

Game physics and some specific spell effects get weird if you uncap FPS because they're tied to the framerate. You don't need to hit 120 FPS (which honestly isn't even that difficult nowadays), you just need to go above 60 for it to start happening.

It's not a huge deal, but it can be a little annoying.

240 hz here and I get 200+ frames in less condensed areas...not sure what you mean by 60 frame cap...bad hardware?

    Edit:
Ah you mean physics fluidity...I still don't notice this at least not with default settings from the Nvidia control panel. Is this just a bad monitor? I can see how physics can be improved but the frame cap doesn't seem to be the issue...I think it lies more in the server side of things where the character positioning and action is concerned.

    Yeah no.

60fps is fine and is a good standard.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
