FPS stuttering with newest NVIDIA drivers

Hello,

I recently downloaded the newest NVIDIA drivers 546.65 and I'm having FPS stuttering when playing Final Fantasy XIV. It only happens if I limit the FPS to 60 or lower, otherwise the game runs fine (but I don't want to overheat my computer).

I've tried limiting the FPS through the ingame option and through the NVIDIA Panel but the results are the same.

Reverting back to my previous drivers (537.58) fixes the problem but I'd want to stay up to date for compatibility with other applications.

the FPS stutters are very likely a Windows- or GPU-driver problem.

Many people have this problems. There is a possible fix:
Open the Nvidia control panel and set the Power management mode from "Normal" to "Prefer maximum performance". But it is better when you do it in the game specific tab. If you set it globally then the GPU will consume much more energy.

The alternative is: disable VSync and limit the FPS of the game to your monitor refresh rate - 3. So if your monitor refresh rate is 120 Hz then set the maximum fps to 117. You can do it in the Nvidia control panel.
