Both Asahi and Zenos are great? Asahi reminds me of a little Chihuahua and Zenos was magnificent, especially in that final fight.
As has been pointed out many times already by both myself and various other posters, Sena is not immune to criticism simply due to being trans. I think that it is perfectly viable for people to find the performance to be flawed and even grating, just as they're free to come to such a conclusion over any performance in the game.
Some will agree, others will disagree. It is what it is.
Regardless, the forum is being used for its primary intended purpose - leaving feedback. You are of course free to do the same, though randomly painting everyone who isn't thrilled by Sena's performance and not so subtly implying that they have ulterior motives strikes me as a rather inappropriate thing to do.
It's not gonna do any good to ignore the fact that lots of people with legitimate concerns in the previous threads would go all, like, "So I think this guy is mentally ill and needs to be fired" a few pages later. There are actual factual transphobes on here arguing in bad faith and it hurts to see people giving them cover. As has been pointed out many times already by both myself and various other posters, Sena is not immune to criticism simply due to being trans. I personally thought the lines felt rushed, like she was struggling to fit her performance in the time allotted, and I agree some were flat. However, I don't think she's any worse than the current Scion actors were in Heavensward. If the game comes out and there's no improvement, then I feel a conversation is appropriate.
I gave an actual criticism but no one wanted to talk about that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you did actually listen.... she gets better on the way, keep in mind that this is a foreign Cat, that is picking more up on Eorzean.... but I guess people only listened to the first few lines or whatever.... and it is kind of a scandal that people cannot grasp, knowingly speaking English as their native language, not to be able to pick that detail up.
And that is all what I can say about that.
Okay - you win the forums this month!Yeah man, I still believe how she went super saiyan to the digital people in Solution 9 in that one scene mimicking Kuja destroying Terra.
And she had the gall, THE GALL to then revert back, take our golden key and flew off to the city of gold while blowing raspberries at the player.
Unbelievable. Worst character ever. -5billion/10![]()
I have a completely unbiased opinion, I did MSQ without checking reddit/discord/forums and I also agree with the OP. The voice sounds amateurish. Most other voice actors for FF14 and FF16 are stage actors or professional voice actors with several principle roles. This voice actor sounds like she picked up voice acting as a hobby during the pandemic. Her accent is odd because it's inconsistent. Sometimes its on sometimes its off, the tone is weird like someone mimicking a pitch that isn't in their natural range, it sounds stilted.
I still feel like people are being incredibly unfair about Sena's performance. She has some pretty meh line reads, but she also has some incredibly good ones. The first cutscene with her was the only one that was consistently "eh."
That, and she hasn't delivered enough lines for people to whine as much as they have been about wanting to fire her. She's been in the game for a total of one hour.
