I too liked Wuk's JP voice. I also agree that the writing may need some work though.Ayaka Shimoyamada truly brought Wuk Lamat to life with her performance. Her portrayal captures the essence of a fierce, determined leader who never backs down. Her voice acting adds a powerful, inspiring dimension to the character, making Wuk Lamat unforgettable.
Unfortunately, the story writing doesn't do her character justice, often shoving her too much into the foreground, which detracts from her depth and potential. The Roegadyn of Light is still the protagonist, and I really wished the Scions had more screentime to develop their stories further.

A lot of people also ignore that the Voice Director would also play a important part.
If the direction isnt good the results will suffer.
I enjoyed Lamati myself overall.
I actualy was glad to see such a positive thread for a change.![]()
her voice actor... yes her german voice actor is great. what a pity she has to say the same few things all the time over and over again.
It felt like the VA was having trouble trying to actually shout with that accent, which is why there are so many "Speen" memes since she spends the latter half of the 2nd arc shouting her name. She was fine in other parts.
I also didn't get the Naruto memes until I listened to Wuk Lamat in Japanese. I can tell she is 100% a Shounen main character in that.
There is some seriously derangee person for doing this : https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...e_fandoms_now/
Doing something like this to a person just because they voiced a VIDEO GAME CHARACTER is just.... yeah i don't have the words..

A lot can happen in a few weeks and blending out negative comments with positive one is one thing.
But experience this kind of abuse and thread of violence is a absolut no go.
It doesnt matter what quality the performance had or how the character got used.
There is no excuse to attack someone like that and i have no reason to doubt her as nowadays such acts happens way to quickly.
No, If I feel like the VA did a bad job at keeping her accent whenever Wuk trying to show intense emotion or when she screaming, I will blame it on the VA performance. Wuk voice when it ''neutral'' and have no intense emotion sound just fine too. A lot of English VA in FFXIV have the same issues (mostly side char) it just that Wuk being the center of attention for the whole xpac exposed that weakness.
