I think her VA was great I just found her personality grating, it was like them trying to do moonbreyda but if moonbredya had the impulse control of a 15 year old

If that’s what they were going for the VA nailed it perfectly, if that wasn’t what they were going for them I’m unsure if that’s on the writing or if I misinterpreted the VA’s work itself

Ayaka Shimoyamada truly brought Wuk Lamat to life with her performance. Her portrayal captures the essence of a fierce, determined leader who never backs down. Her voice acting adds a powerful, inspiring dimension to the character, making Wuk Lamat unforgettable.

Unfortunately, the story writing doesn't do her character justice, often shoving her too much into the foreground, which detracts from her depth and potential. The Roegadyn of Light is still the protagonist, and I really wished the Scions had more screentime to develop their stories further.

I too liked Wuk's JP voice. I also agree that the writing may need some work though.

i was not impressed with wuk lamat's english va compared to the jp/french/german dubs which were all very good. yoshida should go back to their previous recording studio instead of settling for lazy halfassed american slop

Honestly, every language but English sounds incredible in XIV. I do far have listened to French and Japanese and I can't go back to English afterwards, even if I barely understand what's being said. The direction and casting are more adequate. English Alphinaud and Urianger make my ears bleed.

Its her writing that i think puts people off.

I've had two orange tabbys 19 years and 12 years each, two of the best cats I've ever had, and I like them infinitely more than Wuk Lamat. She really does not have orange cat energy, and orange cats are smarter than she is.

Agreed. She has a strong, welcoming, feminine voice. Fierce but also timid and lovable. Her mysteries are more nuanced and layered than most NPCs we encounter where their story is beating you over the head visually and audibly.

Also I got the vibe she supposed to come across as a rebellious child or young adult so yeah, I wouldn't say they were trying to redo any previous characters such as Moen.
