yeah misophonia is a real thing for sure, not doubting that (i have a family member who can't be in the same room as other people chewing food).

it is curious that of all sounds and voices in the game trigger the response, but so it goes.

If it helps, her voice isn't the only *sound* in the game to trigger this, but she is unfortunately the only VA. I'm aware of the optics of this and I dislike it just as much as any other reasonable person.

As for other sounds in general, the footstep sounds in this game drive me absolutely up the wall (ESPECIALLY the metal one, oh my god, that sound makes me seriously upset) and I desperately wish there was a way to turn them off like in FF11. A few of the skill sounds do it too - the reason why I don't post about these kinds of things is because I never saw a relevant thread. I'm posting about Wuk Lamat because there's actually a relevant thread even if it seems to be for largely unfortunate reasons.

But thank you, I'm sure there's plenty for me to enjoy in Dawntrail. I am still looking forward to it! This hasn't killed my interest as a whole, but it is certainly something I'll have to manage going forward. I'm just not sure how yet.

This very much reminds me of Lyse's voice acting at the end of HW when the new VA was introduced. It felt very awkward. Does anyone complain about Lyse's VA now?

Give Wuk's VA the same opportunity. While I understand why some are unhappy, I don't agree that it's that bad.

Given the way Krile, G'raha and Thancred sounded in the patch, I think the problem is less on the VA's end and more on the production end.

riiight, this ONE voice in ALL of the voices in the entirety of FFXIV's story is just setting you off that much.

I don't know the background of the VA and I don't care either, I didn't even know her name until I saw it on the forum. It's the worst performing voice amongst all the current main cast and is on par with ARR voice actors.
You can't stand to hear criticism and blindly defend everything, you're the reason companies can get away with poor quality these days.

I haven't heard her english voice but JP sounds fine and it's nice to see Shimoyamada Ayaka get her breakout role as she's only really done background characters or extras at best before.
