"I think she sucks" is an opinion. It's a subjective statement of feeling. It's just personal fluff talk. Nothing wrong with saying that, as a matter of course.

"She was a nepotism hire," while also a subjective statement of feeling, goes beyond simple aesthetic taste and makes an accusation of concrete wrongdoing. This is like when Alex Jones says a school shooting is fake, and that the victims are just actors, and then hides behind excuses like "It's just my opinion," "it's a character I'm playing, it's just entertainment," or "no sane person would believe me." Then goes on to continue saying it the next day.

Do you have insider knowledge of Square Enix's VA hiring process? Do you have evidence about how this actress got hired? If not, then you are not qualified to give an opinion on how they got the job anymore than Alex Jones may give his "opinion" on a school shooting.

Not liking their performance is an opinion. Accusing them of made-up shady dealings without receipts is not an opinion, it's baseless slander.

I for one was surprised there is STILL SO LITTLE voice acting overall. I mean ESO, wich is a much smaller MMO than FFXIV, has every_single_character and sentence voice acted.

I would absolutely say so. Some of the sideNPC's or citizens obviously do not get top of the line voice acting, but the important characters do.

My guess is that it's due to Microsoft money.
Squeenix has been struggling for years as far as I know, and they're saving money wherever possible.

It's "fine."

It's not the same type of acting as FFXIV. The characters in ESO monologue at you. Very comparable to Skyrim's voice acting. It's stuff like, "Adventurer. I'm glad you're here. Our scout went missing in the hills a few nights ago. We need you to check it out."

They also keep the same like 10 voice actors on retainer who voice dozens of characters each without many different changes in accent, inflection or tone, save for some voice actors who voice more important characters but their appearances are few and far between.

Yes, all voiced by the same three people. It makes everything very generic. I found myself wanting less voice acting when I played ESO and more unique voices.
