    Please Give Tanks a Resurrection Skill

    A terrible imbalance exists in the game at this time, that can only be addressed by giving tanks the ability to resurrect other players.

    First, to establish my credentials for making this claim, I have all classes at 90, and have done a couple tiers of savage raiding while the fights were current. I am not a sprout, ignorant of the ways to play the game and survive a fight. Never have my main's lips been tainted by a skip potion; I can play the game.

    It is well known that tanks can finish a fight solo while the rest of the players present watch after dying, as long as the tanks have a rudimentary knowledge of how to play their class. With basic competence, they can survive current content indefinitely.

    It is gravely unjust for tanks to be forced to finish fights on their own. If a boss is at 20% health or more, and the rest of the party wipes, it can take 2-3 times as long for a lone tank, or even two in a trial, to finish as it would to reset the fight. They battle on while the rest of us watch, as if we had chosen the passive activity of viewing a stream, rather than actually playing a game ourselves. We leave them to do all the work, wasting far more of their time than they would with a full reset of the fight.

    Is this because they are more elite, smarter, harder working, better looking players than the rest of us? A case of noblesse oblige? No, it is not. It is merely because the burden of surviving certain attacks no matter where they are standing has been placed solely on their broad, well armored shoulders.

    So please, Yoshi P., dev team, Square Enix, give tanks (and all DPS, why not) a res skill. Tanks shouldn't be forced to carry the burden of actually playing the game alone. If we could only help them, it would be as if we, too, were Warriors of Light.

    if tanks with immunities can rez then every mechanic in the game can be cheesed and all difficulty is lost.

    GLA/PLD used to sort of have a revival skill pre Stormblood (back in the old days of the cross-class system). Because PLD was able to cross-class CNJ spells and abilities, Raise was one of the spells available to use, although few bothered because you couldn't use it during battle (due to CNJ/WHM having a unique trait that made it useable in battle that GLA/PLD did not have access to). Hence it was removed when the role-ability system was implemented.

    I'd like to see it return, but I can see why SE decided against it.

    I'm a warrior. I can heal myself back to full within a couple seconds. I dont need a raise ability. Im not stuck in a room with the boss. The boss is stuck in a room with ME.

    So tanks can solo a fight if something goes wrong and your response to this isn’t to question if the tanks are too strong but to ask them to basically do the one thing that healers are still almost exclusively used for

    Any thing else tanks, you’ve already taken our healing, you still get a rotation while we get nothing, now you want a rezz, god imagine if square bent to healers like how hard they bend to tanks

    This is exactly why tanks should not have a raise.

    And if the boss still has more than like 25% health it would be faster to wipe and reset the fight, and tanks need to get over their egos and recognize this and wall it.

    i mean we could go ahead and let the warriors have their stormblood dps back where they could beat all the jobs in burst and end the fight with as much damage as a dps. why have diversity when we could just all play warrior.. nerf the other tanks more while youre at it, dont want them getting ideals that they are relevant now.
    (btw this is sarcasm before someone tries to "but actually" me)

    PLD could raise in 1.0 iirc. Hasn't been a thing since ARR and I don't particularly miss it. They can all heal and mit there's no reason to raise when there are SMN, RDM and green DPS.
