(Reply to Mosha continued)It's similar (though not identical!) to frustrations when a mobile, non-disabled actor plays someone in a wheelchair--especially a character who is unable to walk. (I don't mean "they broke their leg badly so they're in a wheelchair until they heal up again," I mean characters for whom a wheelchair is a necessary tool in daily life.)
I quit watching Glee when I realized that the actor playing Artie, Kevin McHale, doesn't use a wheelchair. I was really mad about it. I felt he shouldn't have taken the role, and moreover that the show runners shouldn't have set the role up for him to take in the first place.

I dont understand this stance right... and i didnt understand sena when she had the same one.
the point of being an actor, is to take on roles that change your understanding of the world, and increse your depth of empathy. for example. should only gay actors play gay men, how then can NON gay men ever understand gay ones? isnt that the entire point? to be put in there shoes... by the logic.. only a wheelchair person should write for somebody IN a wheelchair.. but that means far less people would.. or can.. and then by this same logic you guys wind up going even less noticed than before. i have scoliosis, so i understand how you feel, even though for the moment i retain my ability to walk, i still understand how you feel. and thats what you should want... people to try to understand you.. but by segrating people out for these reasons, all you do is limit the amount of people who can share in how you feel. also, the logic is only sound when applied backwards its still fair. but if you now applied the logic, only gay men can play gay men. doesnt that mean gay men CANT play straight men.. isnt that kinda messed up

why cant we just criticise the voice? why does it need to keep turning into this. if her voice is the issue, why do people keep mentioning this.. is it really such a big deal what she said on twitter years ago? who cares what she thinks.. it wont ever effect you.

I can't believe how many people are malding over a va. The VA is on par with the rest of them. There's nothing wrong with it, and if they're an up and coming va they will only get better. Just let it be wait and see what happens.

I want to state that I am in no way defending or condoning J.K Rowlings views. I am simply asking is it not contradictory to say 'don't worry about what this person says on twitter' about one person, but then go after a different person because of what they said on twitter?

firstly. context is a key, i do belive jk rowling is transphobic but i have not gone after her on twitter and dont condone anybody else doing it. youre reply sounds as if you're implicating me in this behaviour
