I just got to the MSQ and I agree with others saying that something about her voice seems off. But there also seems to be something off with Krile and G'raha as well. It's not as noticeable but there is something going on with the audio. I'm not sure how to put it into words but it's almost like some kind of....echo? Like I only really notice it at the end of every word they speak. I also noticed that while Wuk Lamat sometimes had a low voice, I also noticed it with G'raha, Krile, Thancred, and Urianger. So I definitely think it's something with the audio on that part. And they ALL sounded a bit flat at times. So I agree with those saying it's more likely lack of proper direction as well as audio equipment. I think the VA will be fine with proper direction and better audio equipment/post editing. I will hold off on any further opinions until DT.

Yeah, Twitter is definitely different with Elon in charge. Though it does seem to just be two different extreme camps with different views slinging poop at each other or staying in their echo chambers.

Sena is receiving large negativity for 6.55 MSQ voice acting? Shame, should've performed better. Most players could not care less if they're transgender, this doesn't grant immunity against criticism after a rise in popularity for gender politics (In NA). If Sena performed well? You know the answer geniuses. Current performance is poor.

You keep saying "only in NA" which is just outright false, but whatever.

Keep seeing the same people over and over claiming this isn't about trans people, this isn't a witch hunt, yadda yadda. Yet you all seem SO concerned about this voice acting thing, something so miniscule that wanting to see her fired is just bizarre to me.

To claim her performance is poor is just wrong, the vast majority of people do not have that opinion. Most didn't even think twice about the voice acting. One or two threads talking about it wasn't that great, okay whatever, but this?

Same posters saying we should never have a pronoun options, don't hire this trans voice actor, claiming trans rights are only happening in NA like it's some cult or something. You cleaaarly do not want trans people around and it's obvious there's more to this than "poor" performance.

I'm playing in JP for years because English was hellishly annoying, so all the outcry actually made me curious and I switched the voices to EN to see what's all the fuss about.

And she sounds fine to me..? I actually like her more than English Erenville, who people praised so much all over. It's not a "masterpiece" level of acting, mind me, but 100% not "bad".

Wuk Lamat's voice acting is fine. She's supposed to be from a foreign land whose first language is not the Eorzean common tongue. Her voice is by design.

Okay, let\\'s think this through. You\\'re SE. You\\'ve casted a trans woman as the voice of a main character. You hear some complaining about the voice. Some obviously transphobic, some don\\'t like Americans, some just don\\'t like the voice. What do you do?

A: Drop the voice actress, please the angry people and bring an unknown amount of controversy on an entire expansion because you just fired a trans woman.

B: Support the voice actress, anger the angry people and avoid the controversy for the expansion.

A ofc. Dont care about snowflakes. Dont cater to them or it will get worse. If majority doesnt like voice (because of bad voice acting) then time to switch. It absolutely has nothing to do who this person is.

Imo: lamats english voice is not bad but daamn the japanese voice just fits perfectly. Glad i switched to jap voices.

I was being hypothetical ( i thought the "if" would clarify that already...) just like the post i quoted was.

Anyways i doubt they will change the VA. Too many ppl would make it political and square doesnt want to be in the center of that shitstorm. I mean just look at this thread. Its crazy how ppl get riled up about it.

But oh well it makes a good entertaining read at least lol
