Because I don't-- I do not know of any experience Sena has and I do not know if her performance in the full expansion is better. I'm assuming it gets better because that's the trend I've seen in this game, other games, anime, etc. Regarding the trailer I disagree--no one said anything because the voice acting in it is fine and now people are hyper ventilating over a few flat lines.

Just the fact she may not be an experience VA is enough reason to criticize both her and SE. What is she doing there if she isn't trained?

Obviously Koji Fox and Yoshi P disagree since the former directed the lines and Yoshi P approved them for release. Having an opinion is fine but I'm just not sure what you are expecting-- you think they did not coach her as the expansion went on? You don't think she got anymore comfortable with this character? It's not exactly a "fact" that the voice acting is bad, it's just your opinion. But I"m basically saying maybe it gets better and judging off of a tiny patch is little unreasonable. It's one thing to dislike it, it's another thing to call for a whole expansion to be re rerecorded or to have a language swapping feature edited into the game (by character). I highly,l highly doubt either of those things will ever happen.

Mate, I saw this thread and cringed reading feedback and taken a look myself viewing cutscenes on Youtube, it really is bad. You don't hire an unknown lacking experience vs other colleagues with major experience. G'raha Tia is acted by Jonathan Bailey, guy has been acting since 1995 as a child, doing TV shows etc. Robyn Addison has stared in popular UK TV shows (Voices Y'shtola), large amount of experiences. Get it now?

Well that's too bad because it appears to be what they did. You can switch the dub or quit the game. Do you get that? It's the fact you're like... lecturing the voice director based on your opinion that's nuts. It's one thing to criticize an element of the game but I don't think implying devs are incapable is the way to go. I am unsure if you know the person who hired Sena Bryer and Jonathan Bailey are the same person.....yet 10 minutes of patch dialogue and the world is over.

And I would just say overall it's super interesting that people are saying "let's not consider that she's trans or try to be a hero" when you're calling for these extreme scenarios (not just saying "hey it wasn't for me" or "i didn't enjoy it") already that seem aimed at not hearing her at all or replacing her? Seems super harsh.

And that out of the ones that auditioned Sena clearly had something the casting director liked and was chosen out of the finalists... Though now I say this you guys are probably just going to turn around and say she was chosen for "woke" reasons..

Most players could not care less if they're transgender, this doesn't grant immunity against criticism after a rise in popularity for gender politics (In NA). If Sena performed well? You know the answer geniuses. Current performance is poor.

Man, at this point, stop arguing with the American that has zero frame of reference of how South American people are actually meant to sound like, and wants to moralize over ACTUAL SA people over casting choices because he's got a burning White Saviour complex and "dates an Ecuadorian". He's just here to get attention and chase clout.

We are talking about her character, and if the voice fits that character.
Besides, she doesn't act like royalty at all. She goes on hunts in the wilderness with an axe, she has no table manners, and can't read the room.
That is a warrior woman.



Weird, Sadu has a very small part in the game, yet her voice sounds so much better.

Well there is alot of none native english speaking persons in this game as well... and it is a different character when you look at Sadu and Wuk.... as it is it is more like people expect her to be absolutely perfect from the begining, alot of those perfect characters you see around in the game already is far from perfect and it is like they all had to grasp the common tongue like way too easy as it is... which make no sense at all and which is what I would say is bad even worse for voice acting that is, for being a perfect in a situation where you should not be perfect at all.

Interesting. It seems like their XIV portrayal is very similar to the Need for Speed one so I wonder if that's just their accent.

Your own source (IMDB) says he worked on it for Endwalker, the very same expansion Sam Breyer is credited for. I'm aware that Kate works on translations, but I was not aware she handled voice direction. I'd be fairly confident in saying maybe they're both in the room-- I know for XVI it was a few devs, not just Koji, when casting occurred. Unless it has been directly stated Koji Fox is uninvolved with the voice direction elsewhere..?

also @Swad you're ignored. I'm not a white savior and I don't need clout-- as I've said repeatedly SE already employs people from relevant regions to portrays accents when they want them portrayed. . You're fighting against something that has already happened and will continue to happen. The entire reason this discussion even started is simply because I commented that hiring Americans to fake regional accents is disappointing. It has nothing at all to do with skin color-- when I am referring to white people in this case I'm obviously talking about people in America who wouldn't have Indian heritage, Tunisian hertiage, Latino heritage, etc. You can call them whatever you want. I'm just saying I'd rather have a real accent over a fake one. Keep crying. The fake British voice acting in ARR is cringe as well. As the world has learned, it's way better when you just use genuine British people.
